Lead Digital Strategist
About JPA Health
JPA Health is a fully integrated marketing, communications and medical communications agency for clients ranging from emerging biotech to established pharmaceutical companies and public health organizations. We work exclusively within the health sector. We share our clients’ commitment to making people healthier. In fact, some might say we are obsessed with improving and protecting lives. Check out our sizzle reel!
The Role
JPA Health is seeking a Digital Strategist to support cross-functional teams with foundational digital knowledge across paid, owned, and social ecosystems. This role is ideal for a digital generalist; someone who’s fluent in the fundamentals of web, social, and search best practices, and who can act as a hands-on partner to creative, account, and strategic leads.
You will shape the foundations of our clients’ marketing plans, and will be expected to advise on digital best practices, content strategy, and channel planning. You will be surrounded by specialists in Paid Media, UX, and Web Dev, but will know enough about each discipline to flag issues, ask the right questions, and ensure we deliver digital work that’s smart, effective, and feasible.
This position is a full-time, hybrid role reporting to any JPA office (i.e., Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, New York City) 2 days per week and working remotely 3 days per week.
The Responsibilities
- Act as the “digital glue” across project teams—spotting risks, advising on best practices, and ensuring work reflects current platform standards
- Conduct digital audits for SEO, UX, and Digital optimization
- Advise on SEO fundamentals and metadata needs for content projects
- Support omnichannel strategy by recommending digital tactics and identifying feasibility gaps
- Collaborate with creative and strategy teams to adapt messaging and content formats across digital channels
- Assist with digital timelines, handoffs, and QA workflows across web, social, and paid media projects
- Stay up to date on platform shifts, digital trends, and compliance updates across major channels
- Provide light technical documentation (e.g., banner spec charts, UTM parameters, QR codes, tracking tags, alt text plans) in partnership with creative and dev teams
- Help internal teams “gut check” digital ideas for feasibility and platform alignment before going into full build
- Collaborate with the analytics team on campaign set-up and tagging support (execution handled by specialists)
- Draft functional requirements for CRM workflows, customer journeys, and channel integrations (no hands-on software implementation required).
- Stay at the forefront of digital engagement trends, suggesting ways to apply innovations like AI, personalization, and automation to our work where applicable.
About You
Our ideal candidate must have:
- Bachelor's Degree and 6-8+ years in a digital marketing agency role
- Comfort reviewing specs, placements, and best practices across digital channels (paid social, banners, websites, CRM)
- Strong working knowledge of web basics (responsive design, accessibility, load considerations) and social ad formats
- Familiarity with Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, and Google Analytics (deep execution not required)
- Proficiency with SEO fundamentals
- Excellent communicator—able to act as translator between creative, dev, and strategic teams
- Calm under pressure, with an eye for catching small details before they become big problems
- Experience in healthcare or pharma
- Passion for clean execution, curiosity about digital trends, and a natural instinct to “make it work smarter”
- Natural curiosity! Interest in branching out areas of experience as opportunities arise
