Job Summary
The Jr. MEPS Estimator is an entry-level role that provides essential support to the MEPS Estimating Department. This is a great opportunity for someone who has a genuine interest in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and sprinkler (MEPS) systems and is looking to build a career in estimating.

Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing cost estimates for MEPS scopes across all project design phases - from Conceptual through Construction Documents.
- Support in computing cost factors for project planning, bid preparation, scheduling, and vendor selection.
- Help organize and review subcontractor and supplier bids to identify the most competitive and comprehensive options.
- Assist with quantity take-offs for materials, labor, and equipment based on drawings and specifications.
- Work with senior estimators to ensure all necessary information is included for accurate and complete estimates.
- Participate in meetings with architects, engineers, and vendors to clarify details and gather data for cost planning.
- Help prepare cost breakdowns for both internal review and client presentations.
- Maintain and update cost databases and vendor/supplier lists to support estimate accuracy.
- Support in generating value engineering ideas and reviewing life-cycle cost options.
- Partner with project and preconstruction teams to review plans for constructability and project requirements.
- Attend internal and external meetings to gain exposure to project discussions and estimate strategy.
- Stay informed on construction code updates and industry pricing trends.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in construction, estimating, engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and sprinkler (MEPS) systems.
- Driven, proactive, and eager to take on increasing responsibilities - this is a growth-oriented role.
- Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to manage shifting priorities effectively.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities, with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to read and interpret commercial construction plans and specifications accurately.
Computer Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with On-Screen Takeoff is a plus, but not required - training will be provided.
Salary Information
To the extent this position is performed in New York City, the annual salary range for this role is $75,000 - $90,000.
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
