Job Summary

JRM is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to join our Accounting & Finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for concurrent Core & Shell and Interior projects and will act as a liaison between accounting and project management ensuring accurate and consistent billing and financial reporting.  

 

Responsibilities 

  • Monitor project progress by processing & reviewing subcontractor AIA’s for accuracy;
  • Attend pencil meeting with owner and/or architect to ensure proper and accurate pay application to the owner per contract terms;
  • Review and process Accounts Payable for General Condition and Requirement invoices in addition to monthly Work-In-Place;
  • Process Accounts Receivable and respond to client & vendor billing inquiries;
  • Monitor cash flow and communicate with PX/PM on tracking Accounts Receivable;
  • Review and interpret contracts, subcontractor documents, payment terms, insurance, and bond requirements;
  • Generate billings and posting blocks, Work-In-Place Reports, Cash Position Reports, Billing Proofs, Sales Tax Report, PPE Reports, Outstanding Voucher Reports, and other monthly deliverables for management;
  • Investigate and reconcile variance analysis within specific billing elements of individual projects;
  • Approve and assist with employee expense & expense coding;
  • Prepare journal entries to move costs to the correct billing codes.  

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field 
  • At least four years of prior relevant experience, working in Project Accounting for a construction company 
  • Clear understanding of contract types (Construction Manager as Agent, Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP), Lump Sum, Cost Plus) 
  • Proficient in G702/703 formatted requisition billing
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks with a keen attention to detail  

 

Computer Skills 

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and Sage 300 (Timberline) 

 

Salary Information

  • To the extent this position is performed in New York City, the annual salary range for this role is $110,000 - $140,000.

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level.
