Program Summary
We are looking for recent college graduates to be a part of our Rotational Trainee Program. This is a 12-Month (52 Week) program that will rotate individuals through the main areas of construction management: Superintendent, Project/Cost Management, and Estimating. Each trainee will also be assigned a dedicated mentor throughout the program.
Rotation Program Overview
1) Construction – Superintendent & Safety Intro (Duration: 18 weeks)
- Objective: To gain an understanding of site management, getting involved in the paperwork process, coordination of subcontractors, subcontractor and client meetings, and assisting with the superintending of a project. To help drive employee engagement and participation as it relates to safety to all JRM personnel and our partners (subcontractors) by promoting a standard of quality, professionalism, and safety excellence.
- Focus Areas:
- Procore & Construction Documents (RFIs, Submittals, Logs)
- Site coordination, meetings, and schedules
- Reading drawings/sketches, punch lists
- Safety planning and accident-prevention strategies
2) Construction – Project Management (Duration: 18 weeks)
- Objective: To assist Project Managers with client meeting minutes preparation, pencil requisitions and project close-outs. Attend client and Project Manager meetings to gain a greater understanding of their assigned projects and the role of a Project Manager. To also gain an understanding of project extras, the work order/change order process, getting involved in soliciting proposals from subcontractors and preparing change orders.

- Procore & Timberline
- Meeting minutes, purchase/work/change orders
- Requisitions, invoicing, and closeouts
- Financial tracking and subcontractor claims
3) Pre-construction – Estimating (Duration: 16 weeks)
- Objective: To gain an understanding of the basic principles of Construction estimating. To assist an Estimator with the solicitation of bids from subcontractors, walkthroughs, take-offs and proposals.
- Focus Areas:
- Bid solicitations and walkthroughs
- Take-offs, proposal prep, and bid leveling
- Estimating templates and purchasing processes
4) Mentorship
- Each trainee is paired with a dedicated mentor who provides guidance, feedback, and ensures exposure to all program objectives
Qualifications
- Minimum
- Recent college graduate with a bachelor's degree earned within the last six months
- Preferred:
- Previous internship or work experience in the construction industry
- Strong interest in interiors projects
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
Salary Information
- To the extent this position is performed in New York, the annual salary for this role is $75,000.
