Job Summary
The Director of Business Development (Mission Critical) is the main person who develops and implements strategic growth plans to expand the firm’s presence in the Mission Critical Market. They will lead the effort to identify and pursue new opportunities to drive mission critical revenue growth for JRM. This individual will report to the VP of Business Development.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Coordinate and organize all BD efforts in the Mission Critical / MEPS Business Unit.
- Posses a strong understanding of the Data Center and Mission Critical Space
- Work closely with leadership to establish client outreach and plans for prospecting new clients.
- Create Sales strategies and strategic planning in Collaboration with VP of BD and Business Unit Leaders
- Lead efforts to research and determine qualified areas to target and projects to chase
- Track, manage, and update all leads in CRM system and provide timely update.
- Generate profitable sales and opportunities for JRM
- Support the firm’s mission and annual strategic planning efforts
- Have strong relationships with clients, owner’s reps, brokers, architects, engineers, and other AEC influencers
- Represent JRM in the marketplace and be active in the AEC Space
- Collaborate with estimating and preconstruction on New Opportunities
- Perform client management and communication with existing and potential new clients.
- Assign internal resources to follow up with respective relationships that may generate revenue
- Manage the full pursuit process from lead to award/loss
- Assist with proposal and RFP responses on high level.
- Ability to cold call leads and convert into new business.
- Arrange client meetings for BU leads with potential clients
- Coordinate marketing and client outreach events
- Advise on Associations and Networking events for JRM to remain active in the marketplace
- Maintain constant pulse on the marketplace
- Understanding of Construction Contract types and owner contracts risks
- Some required Travel to Trade Shows and Industry Events
- Minium of 2-4 client outings/ industry events per week.
- Develop leads that can ultimately lead to RFPs and pursuits for JRM
- Assist with Managing New and existing relationships and further nurture
- Collaborate with other BD execs on mutual connections and establish approach to properly surround the relationship.
- Research and scout market trends and inform key stakeholders to assist with our competitive edge
Qualifications and Skills
- Associates Degree at a minimum
- 10+ Years’ Experience in AEC Space Sales
- Strong multitasking skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with multiple internal departments
- Technical knowledge a plus
Computer Systems
- Excellent computer literacy including experience with Microsoft Office product applications
- CRM Software
- Zoom Info and Linked In
Salary Requirements
- To the extent that this position is performed in New York City, the annual salary range for this role is $235,000 - $255,000
