Location: Hybrid 3 days (offices in NYC, Denver, CO and Charlotte, NC area)

Position Summary:

Lead Judi Rx’s Underwriting Data Analyst team in the day-to-day operations in support of underwriting for both new business opportunities and recontracting of current clients. Manage, train, and mentor the Underwriting Data Analyst team members in all facets of their roles, as well as act as the first POC and SME for all data-related questions for the greater Underwriting department.  Directly contribute to and provide oversight over the Underwriting Data Analyst team’s infrastructure including maintaining existing functionality and leading the development of new features. 

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Collect, clean, process, and analyze potential and current clients’ pharmaceutical data – using SQL, Python, R, and MS Excel as appropriate – to support the Underwriting and Sales teams in the acquisition of new business and retention of current clients
  • Thoroughly understand internal and external data fields, identify patterns of data irregularities, and improve data quality and intake
  • Coordinate with relevant parties regarding any data ambiguity and request any additional data elements that may be required or beneficial for analysis
  • Troubleshoot and customize infrastructure code in SQL, Python, and R to diagnose and solve data or process issues
  • Create custom code in SQL, Python, and R for improved or entirely new functionality in support of ad hoc requests and to further the development of our growing infrastructure
  • Manage the development of new analyses, reporting, and process enhancements in support of pricing models for new and existing products
  • Provide ad-hoc analytics support to the Underwriting team for the successful completion of all bid opportunities
  • Provide analytics support to the Pricing, Clinical, Account Management, and Implementation teams to facilitate client transitions
  • Collaborate with Leadership Team and other business functions (sales, marketing, account management) to develop and maintain internal underwriting, financial modeling, and financial reporting system infrastructure and SOPs
  • Train and on-board new hires in Underwriting data, tools, and processes
  • Manage a team of Underwriting Data Analysts as direct reports
  • Manage the Underwriting Data Analyst work queue and assignments
  • Provide QA review of all ad hoc analyses and custom views for both internal and external reporting purposes
  • Establish and maintain team documentation on processes, procedure, and best practices 

  

Required Qualifications: 

  • Undergraduate bachelor’s degree, with record of strong academic performance in Statistics, Economics, Finance, Business, Computer Science, or a quantitative social science
  • 5+ years of proven experience in data analysis, such as financial analysis, actuarial services, accounting, pricing & underwriting
  • 1+ year of experience in managing direct reports
  • 1+ year of experience working with pharmaceutical claims data
  • Expertise in SQL for data transformation and data analysis with strong coding hygiene and documentation practices
  • Proficiency in Python and R
  • Working knowledge of ETL fundamentals and experience working with cloud-based data warehouses
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data
  • Track record of leading cross-functional initiatives, driving high performance, meeting deadlines, and executing on deliverables
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously under a frequently shifting work queue
  • Extremely flexible, highly organized, and able to shift priorities easily
  • Attention to detail & commitment to delivering high-quality work products 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree, with record of strong academic performance in Statistics, Economics, Finance, Business, Computer Science, or a quantitative social science
  • Knowledge of medical claims data 
  • Knowledge of Tableau
  • Knowledge of and passion for improving the health care industry

This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range. The actual base salary will depend on several factors such as: experience, knowledge, and skills, and location of the job. 

New York, NY Salary Range

$150,800 - $188,500 USD

Denver, CO Salary Range

$138,000 - $172,500 USD

Charlotte, NC Salary Range

$125,600 - $157,000 USD
