Senior Manager, Revenue Recognition

Role Purpose: 

As a Senior Manager of Revenue Recognition, you will provide critical support to the Finance team and various stakeholder groups across the company, including Product, Sales, and Operations. Serving as a trusted advisor, consultant, and expert in revenue recognition, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and U.S. GAAP, developing financial strategies, and fostering a positive organizational culture.

Role Value: 

This is a high visibility role that reports to the VP, Corporate Controller. The Senior Manager of Revenue Recognition will be a hands-on leader and will support US, UK, Canada, and Singapore offices with their revenue recognition activities. You will be part of the global finance team to lead and manage month/year-end close processes, external audits, and internal controls compliance duties, as well as system implementations and process improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the integrity and accuracy of revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and U.S. GAAP
  • Lead the Revenue Deal desk and heavily collaborate with Sales, Operations and Product teams
  • Oversee global month-end and year-end revenue close calendars
  • Prepare and/or review revenue-related Journal Entries impacting revenue, AR, bad debits, and sales commission capitalization/amortization.
  • Review and reconcile deferred revenue and accounts receivable
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations related to revenue, including unbilled revenue, deferred revenue, and contract assets/liabilities
  • Oversee revenue-related consolidation and intercompany accounting
  • Partner with other teams within the Finance organization to manage EOM activities including revenue and cash forecasting
  • Proactively seek ways to improve processes and/or implement new tools to help reduce time to close, improve accuracy of the underlying accounting records, and create operational efficiencies
  • Lead and manage special projects and perform additional duties, as required
  • Work with external auditors to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of year-end audit
  • Collaborate and coordinate with various business partners to obtain required financial reporting information and develop improvements to the financial reporting process

Relevant Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting
  • CPA preferred, Big 4 Audit experience
  • 10+ years’ experience managing similar duties in Revenue Recognition in either an Audit or Industry/Operation experience
  • Experience working at a fast-paced company with the ability to meet various deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex matters in written and oral form
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and organize work independently
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, NetSuite experience preferred
  • Solid Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills

Compensation

  • The hiring range for this position is from $167,000 to $185,000. This is based on Jumio’s geographical salary band for the role.  
  • Excellent benefits including medical and dental insurance health and wellness, peer recognition, flexible time off, and 401K match are also provided for all US employees.
