In short, your role within Jungheinrich will play a crucial part in providing the customer with complete peace of mind in managing their intra-company logistics. 

 

Role Purpose:

  • Provide leadership for the Rental and Used Equipment function, ensuring delivery of key business objectives.
  • Develop and implement the strategy for Jungheinrich-owned Rental and Used Equipment assets, delivering profitable growth and financial KPIs across all sales channels in line with the UK financial plan.
  • Design and deliver effective pricing strategies and rental solutions that maximise used equipment sales opportunities and optimise rental fleet utilisation.
  • Drive process efficiency, optimise equipment turnaround times, and maximise operational throughput across the workshop and warehouse, while reducing inventory and improving asset availability to meet customer expectations, group framework requirements, and local KPIs.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Rental and Used Equipment business function: Rental Fleet Management (RFM), Short Term Hire (STR), and Used Equipment (UE).
  • Develop and deliver an integrated rental strategy utilising all Jungheinrich-owned assets (RFM, STR, UE, and Long-Term Rental / Financial Services) and maximise revenue opportunities in the rental and used equipment business across all sales channels (Direct Sales, Indirect Sales, and E-Commerce).
  • Ensure Jungheinrich’s rental and UE offering considers industry relevant developments, competitors’ activities and changing customer needs in a dynamic market environment. 
  • Define and implement effective pricing models for rental products and services depending on fleet and asset availability ("dynamic pricing") and target industry segments, maximising revenue, utilisation, and margin.
  • Work with the Marketing function to drive promotional campaigns based on fleet availability and utilisation, ensuring effective deployment of available assets.
  • Prepare annual plans, investment proposals, and forecasts.
  • Be accountable for achieving targets, delivering financial KPIs, and driving growth of the Rental and Used Equipment function.
  • Work with the Sales Development function to support forecasting, decision-making, and performance reviews across relevant sales channels. Take corrective action where required to ensure forecasts are met or exceeded.
  • Optimise the size, structure, condition, and utilisation of the rental fleet; actively manage the used equipment fleet by balancing asset availability and inventory levels; improve asset availability to meet customer expectations, group framework requirements, and local KPIs
  • Drive product standardisation into rental offering and manage market value risks.
  • Ensure process efficiency, optimise equipment turnaround time, and maximise operational throughput in the workshop and warehouse facility.
  • Work alongside Sales Operations functions to drive the development of a highly efficient operational centre of excellence (including workshop, warehouse, and supply chain).
  • Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all staff within the department.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the jobholder may be required to perform other duties assigned by your line manager.

 

Role Requirements:

Skills:

  • An experienced leader / senior manager with specific experience within a B2B or rental industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to translate objectives into action plans and results.
  • Ability to work under pressure, putting the customer at the heart of what we do.
  • Strong commercial and analytical capability, including pricing, margin, utilisation, pipeline and forecasting analysis.
  • IT literate.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a similar discipline.

Experience:

  • Evidence of prior leadership experience.
  • Experience within rental, used equipment, fleet, asset-based sales, or a comparable sales operations function would be highly beneficial.
  • Demonstrates excellent business knowledge and commercial awareness.
  • MHE asset knowledge desirable.
