Journeyman Scaffolder

Job Summary

JVD Installations Inc. is currently seeking Journeyperson Scaffolders for our project in Norman Wells, NWT. The successful candidates will be responsible for safely executing Scaffold duties in an industrial maintenance environment.  

Responsibilities

• Utilizes site drawings and written instructions to select materials required to set ground levels for scaffolds. 
• Installs steel pipes, support braces and clamps to form bases for scaffolds.
• Lifts and positions sections of scaffolding and bolts pipes together to build scaffolding as per site requirements.
• Places planks over horizontal bars to create platforms. 
• Monitors levels in scaffolding structures to ensure stability. 
• Dismantles scaffolding at the completion of a job or as requested by the Site Manager.
• May perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Committed to working in a safe and efficient manner.
• Excellent problem-solving skills required.
• Good analytical ability and manual dexterity.
• Successful candidates are required to have a valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding work for a long duration of time.
• Must be able to perform duties at heights.
• Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Must be able to complete all pre-access training as identified prior to mobilization.
• Must be able to successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing.

Trade Certification Requirements

• Registered SAIA Scaffolder Preferred
