Position Overview
K18 Hair is seeking a dynamic and visionary Global Director, Brand Marketing to join our rapidly growing team. This pivotal role will report directly to the VP, Global Brand Marketing and will be instrumental in shaping the global marketing strategy, product marketing, driving comprehensive 360 marketing activations, and managing a high-performing team.
The Global Director will be responsible for managing the end-to-end go-to-market process for products and categories under their responsibility. They will collaborate extensively across functions to create cohesive, integrated marketing plans that not only drive significant growth but also align seamlessly with K18's overarching brand vision and scientific leadership in biomimetic hair science.
This position demands a leader with exceptional interpersonal skills, a pronounced entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to expertly balance strategic foresight with meticulous attention to detail. The ideal candidate will possess a deep curiosity for scientific innovation, a comprehensive understanding of the professional stylist universe, and an appreciation for its critical role within the K18 community and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Global Brand Strategy & Portfolio Management of products and categories under responsibility
- Strategic Planning: In close collaboration with the VP, Global Brand Marketing, define and refine K18's global brand strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market opportunities.
- Innovation Pipeline: Lead the strategic development and management of the product innovation pipeline, working closely with R&D and Operations teams to bring cutting-edge, science-backed solutions to market.
- Marketing Calendar Ownership: Develop and maintain a comprehensive global marketing calendar, integrating all innovation launches, commercial moments, and brand-building initiatives into a cohesive, strategic plan that drives key brand objectives.
- Competitive Analysis: Continuously monitor the global beauty landscape, competitor activities, and emerging trends to identify opportunities and threats, translating insights into actionable strategies.
Go-To-Market Leadership & 360 Marketing Activations of products and categories under responsibility
- End-to-End Campaign Management: Oversee the entire go-to-market process for all marketing activities, from initial campaign ideation and concept development to global execution and post-launch analysis.
- Integrated Marketing Planning: Lead the development and execution of robust 360-degree marketing plans, ensuring seamless integration across all consumer touchpoints including digital, social, PR, retail, professional channels, and experiential activations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the central hub for go-to-market efforts, fostering strong partnerships with Product Development, Creative, Sales, Education, Digital, and external agencies to ensure cohesive and impactful campaigns.
- Creative Briefing & Asset Development: Develop compelling creative briefs for internal and external creative partners, overseeing the development and delivery of all necessary marketing assets (e.g., imagery, video, copy) for global deployment.
- Performance Tracking & Optimization: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for all marketing initiatives, regularly track performance, lead campaign post-mortems, and leverage insights to continuously optimize future strategies and activations.
- Process Excellence: Implement and refine robust working processes for go-to-market planning, including defined meeting cadences, communication protocols, and tracking mechanisms to ensure efficiency and alignment across stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Development
- Talent Management: Mentor, and develop a high-performing team of marketing professionals responsible for product marketing, brand strategy, and 360 marketing activations.
- Performance Management: Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews to foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth within the team.
- Team Empowerment: Empower the team to take ownership of their respective areas, encouraging innovative thinking and collaborative problem-solving.
Consumer & Market Insights
- Market Research Leadership: Plan and execute relevant market research initiatives, including consumer surveys, salon visits, qualitative interviews with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and comprehensive brand studies.
- Trend Forecasting: Systematically monitor industry trends, the competitive landscape, and promotional activities, establishing a robust system to track and maintain these insights. Translate findings into actionable recommendations that inform calendar planning and go-to-market strategies.
- Partnership with Insights Teams: Collaborate closely with Unilever Prestige consumer insights teams to leverage broader market intelligence and integrate relevant findings into K18's strategic planning.
Financial Management
- Budget Oversight: Manage and optimize the marketing budget for assigned initiatives, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing ROI.
- Forecasting & Reporting: Contribute to sales forecasting processes and provide regular reports on marketing performance against established goals.
Qualifications
- Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in global brand marketing, preferably within the prestige beauty, haircare, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industries.
- Leadership: Proven experience managing and developing a team, with a track record of fostering talent and driving high performance.
- Strategic Acumen: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute global marketing strategies that drive brand growth and market share.
- Go-To-Market Expertise: Extensive experience in leading end-to-end go-to-market processes for product launches and integrated marketing campaigns.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Exceptional ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret data, derive actionable insights, and make data-driven decisions.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to senior leadership and diverse audiences.
- Industry Knowledge: Passion for the beauty industry, with a particular interest in scientific innovation and the professional stylist community.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field required; MBA preferred.

Salary Range: $145,000-$165,000 USD
This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, knowledge and skills, and if the location of the job changes.
