Supply Chain Internship - Summer 2027

The Role 

We’re looking for a stellar Supply Chain Intern to join our team for a 3 month internship. Working closely with our supply chain and engineering teams, you will be responsible for making sure hardware is planned for and available on the line for some of the largest, most powerful, rapidly designed and manufactured satellites. You will work hands-on with planning and purchasing systems, using data analytics and negotiation to deliver hardware for production. K2 Space is a highly collaborative environment, and our interns will be encouraged to work with mentors and other team members to execute complex projects.  

Responsibilities 

• Technical Procurement 

• Assist in sourcing hardware such as connectors, harnesses, printed circuit boards, machined parts, and consumables 

• Help negotiate costs and contracts with key suppliers  

• Assist with supplier quality and deliveries to ensure mission success 

• Provide support between suppliers and internal customers including supplier onboarding, evaluation, negotiation, and project management 

• Material Planning 

• Help manage Bill of Materials for various assemblies 

• Help implement the master planning schedule for high volume production 

• Develop internal analytics to track supply chain objectives 

• Inventory 

• Help implement inventory kitting processes for external assembly work on several key builds 

• Maintain minimum inventory levels and controls to ensure we are material clear for production 

Qualifications 

Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in supply chain, finance, business administration, or engineering 

Additional Requirements  

Available for a minimum 12-week internship in person at our HQ in Torrance 

Nice to Have 

• Ability to work well in an integrated collaborative team environment, including frequent interactions with technicians, engineers, and managers  

• Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle  

• Experience using SQL 

Compensation and Benefits: 

• Hourly pay range for this non-exempt role is $30 - $40 per hour   

• Hourly rate will be based on several factors including, but not limited to: knowledge and skills, education, and experience level  

• Housing and travel stipend may also be available
