Job Summary 

Kairos Power is seeking a highly motivated and experienced BIM Manager with a strong background in Revit to lead the implementation and management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) for our diverse civil structures projects. The ideal candidate will be an expert in leveraging Revit for structural modeling while possessing a comprehensive understanding of the broader civil infrastructure digital toolkit. You will be responsible for driving the development and enforcement of our BIM standards, with a special focus on Revit-centric workflows, managing the BIM process from project inception to completion, and ensuring the successful integration of digital delivery across our civil engineering teams. 

Responsibilities 

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company's BIM strategy, with a primary focus on robust Revit standards and workflows for civil structures.   
  • Champion the adoption of BIM technologies across all civil engineering disciplines, ensuring seamless integration between Revit and other platforms like Civil 3D.   
  • Establish and manage a Common Data Environment (CDE) for all project information, ensuring Revit models and data are central to the project ecosystem.  
  • Oversee the BIM process on multiple civil structures projects, from initial planning and design through to construction and as-built documentation, ensuring Revit models are accurately developed and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.   
  • Develop and manage project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), clearly defining Revit modeling standards, Level of Development (LOD) requirements, and collaboration procedures.   
  • Lead interdisciplinary coordination using federated models, with a strong emphasis on the structural Revit model as a key source of truth.   
  • Manage and lead clash detection and resolution meetings, utilizing Navisworks to coordinate Revit models with designs from other disciplines.  
  • Serve as the in-house expert for Revit Structure, providing advanced technical guidance and troubleshooting for project teams.   
  • Lead the development and maintenance of a comprehensive library of standardized Revit families and content specifically for civil structural elements (e.g., bridge components, retaining walls, culverts, foundations).  
  • Provide expert support on other key software, including Autodesk Civil 3D, Navisworks, and InfraWorks, while ensuring optimal interoperability with Revit.   
  • Mentor project teams on best practices for Revit modeling, work-sharing, and data management.  
  • Supervise and mentor a team of BIM coordinators and modelers, with a focus on elevating their Revit skills.   
  • Develop and deliver customized training programs to enhance the Revit proficiency of all civil engineering staff, from basic principles to advanced modeling techniques.   
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing, particularly around Revit and digital innovation.  
  • Ensure all BIM deliverables, especially Revit models, meet the required level of accuracy, detail, and quality as defined by project and company standards.  
  • Conduct regular, rigorous quality control reviews of Revit models and associated documentation.   
  • Stay current with the latest versions of Revit, industry add-ins, and emerging BIM technologies and standards, such as ISO 19650.  
  • Partners with stakeholders to understand project requirements, specifications, and objectives.  
  • Collaborate with civil structural, electrical, and mechanical engineers to integrate utilities, power supplies, and infrastructure into the layout design.   
  • Generate 2D and 3D layout drawings, as well as associated documentation and reports, to communicate design concepts and implementation guidelines.   
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction, to ensure seamless coordination and alignment during project execution.   
  • Conduct periodic reviews of existing plant layouts to identify opportunities for optimization, efficiency enhancement, and cost reduction.   
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in plant layout design and material handling systems.  
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.   
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the AECO industry, with at least 5 years in a dedicated BIM management or coordination role focused on structural or civil projects.   
  • Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Revit Structure is essential, with a demonstrable portfolio of complex projects.   
  • Experience with Autodesk Navisworks for coordination and clash detection.   
  • Proven experience in creating and managing advanced Revit families, parameters, and templates.   
  • Experience in nuclear or regulated environments is a plus. 
  • Background and experience must include drafting/ designer experience in engineering fields, such as electrical, mechanical, structural, communications, architectural, fire protection or civil  

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.   
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.   
  • Experience with other BIM and reality capture software (e.g., AVEVA 3D, Bentley OpenRoads, OpenBridge, Recap, ReCap Pro).   
  • Familiarity with data management and collaboration platforms such as BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud.   
  • Experience with Dynamo for Revit to automate tasks and enhance workflows.   
  • Experience with 4D (scheduling) and 5D (cost estimation) BIM processes.   
  • Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) in Revit or other relevant industry certifications.

  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk Navisworks for coordination and clash detection.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail.  
  • Strong understanding of spatial planning, material flow optimization, and equipment placement principles.   
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. 
  • Ability to work with highly collaborative team.
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Prioritizes and ensures safety of one self and others. 
  • Ability to proactively collect, manage and transfer knowledge.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required.

  • Occasionally requires extended hours to support launch and critical project timelines 

The salary range for this position is $140,000 to $165,400 for employees working onsite at our Alameda, CA headquarters. The range provided in this job posting represents the typical range or starting rate of candidates hired in California. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, the market data for your work location, and a comparison to other employees already in the role.
