
FLS/I&C Sr. Project Engineer - (Owner's Representative) - Semiconductor Construction
The Fire and Gas Life Safety Project Manager serves as the Owner’s Representative responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and managing Fire, Gas, and Life Safety systems across active semiconductor manufacturing campuses. This role combines technical expertise in life safety systems with project management oversight, controls awareness, and stakeholder coordination to ensure systems are compliant, reliable, and operationally sound in a high‑hazard, mission‑critical environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
- 5+ years of experience in Fire Life Safety Systems, Fire & Gas systems, or Life Safety Systems, including project management responsibility
- Experience working in semiconductor, laboratory, or biopharmaceutical facilities strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience managing FLSS-related projects across construction, tool installation, and sustaining operations
- Working knowledge of control systems and PLC-based architectures supporting Fire & Gas Life Safety systems in an industrial environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project for reporting, tracking, and stakeholder communication
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to proactively identify and resolve system or project risks
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Owner’s Representative for Fire, Gas, and Life Safety Systems across semiconductor campus construction and operations
- Provide project management oversight for FLSS-related sustaining work, tool installations, and construction projects
- Manage system capacity, reliability, uptime, and documentation required to safely operate life safety systems
- Oversee Fire/Evacuation, Early Warning Smoke Detection, Liquid Leak Detection, Tool Annunciation Systems (TAS), and Hazardous Production Material (HPM) alarm and detection systems
- Coordinate FLSS scopes across facilities, construction, tool install, and operations teams
- Act as the primary liaison for FLSS-related operational and project-driven customer requests
- Provide oversight and coordination of PLC-based control systems supporting HPM and TAS functions, including interface awareness, I/O point management, and system troubleshooting in collaboration with controls engineers and vendors
- Support controls-related change management, testing, and validation activities for Fire & Life Safety systems operating within a PLC-controlled semiconductor environment
- Lead continuous improvement efforts related to system performance, reliability, and alarm management
- Maintain ownership of Fire Life Safety Systems including HPM systems (Siemens PCS 7 S-400), Fire Alarm Systems (EST), toxic and flammable gas detection (Midas, Vertex, Honeywell), VESDA, and associated fire protection systems
- Coordinate and manage preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, and repairs with vendors on weekly, monthly, and annual cycles across both campuses
- Manage FACP and GACP testing, impairment coordination, and fire watch requests
- Oversee critical spares inventory for life safety systems and components
- Manage campus-wide control panel monitoring, alarm response coordination, and trouble reporting
- Ensure document control accuracy, including verification of code-compliance testing reports and records
- Participate in and support FLSS-related design reviews, project planning, and constructability discussions
- Present FLSS updates in daily operations, weekly tool install tracker meetings, and other stakeholder forums
- Support safety initiatives and act as a role model for safe work practices at all times
- Capture lessons learned from FLSS incidents and EHS tracking systems and implement corrective actions as needed

Salary Range
$90,000 - $140,000 USD
