Senior Communications Specialist

About the Role

This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can manage various aspects of communications, from media relations to internal updates and sales enablement. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial, along with the ability to adapt messaging for different platforms and audiences. 

Responsibilities: 

Manage External Communications: 

  • Identify media opportunities for the organization. 
  • Draft press releases, media pitches, bylined articles, and other external communications materials. 
  • Distribute press releases and other content to relevant media outlets. 
  • Monitor media coverage and compile media reports. 

Build and Maintain Media Lists: 

  • Develop and update media contact lists. 
  • Ensure accuracy and relevance of media contacts based on ongoing research and industry trends. 

Create Materials for Sales Enablement: 

  • Develop sales collateral including case studies, presentations, and brochures.  
  • Ensure content aligns with the company’s brand and messaging strategy. 

Support Customer Marketing: 

  • Collaborate with the Customer Success team to create a repository of customer case studies and testimonials. 
  • Interview senior executive customer contacts and develop compelling case studies that showcase successful customer outcomes. 
  • Build and manage a case study library that showcases how our supply chain execution solutions drive operational success. 
  • Develop and execute strategies to leverage success stories across our internal and external channels.   

Internal Communications and Marketing: 

  • Update and maintain the company intranet with relevant information and resources, developing and executing against an annual editorial calendar.  
  • Use email tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Outlook) to draft and distribute internal communications. 
  • Coordinate with different departments to ensure consistent messaging across internal communications. 
  • Support content creation for town halls and company-wide meetings.  

Requirements:

  • Superior Writing Skills: Ability to draft clear, concise, and compelling content for different audiences (media, internal stakeholders, customers). 
  • Strong Verbal Skills: Ability to interview senior leaders, present to senior leaders, and speak to groups.  
  • Media Relations Expertise: Experience in media outreach, press release writing, and maintaining relationships with journalists. 
  • Excellent Organizational Skills: Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines. 
  • Ability to Collaborate: Comfortable working cross-functionally with teams such as Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing. 
  • Digital Communication Tools: Proficiency in email marketing tools and content management systems for intranet updates. 
  • Analytical Skills: Able to analyze media coverage and provide insights/recommendations for future strategies. 
  • Graphic Design: Basic knowledge of design principles for creating visually appealing internal, sales, and marketing materials. 
  • SEO Knowledge: Understanding of basic SEO principles to optimize content for online visibility.
