We believe the best way to show you what our team is like is to treat you like you're already a part of it. We hope you'll consider joining our team of experienced professionals who are building their careers at Kalles Group—and having fun while doing it.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to be a key part of a high-energy team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Data Architects and Data Scientists to design and maintain scalable data pipelines and data models. Your primary focus will be on building and optimizing data pipelines that ensure the availability and quality of data for reports and advanced analytics. You will also work with DevOps Engineers during CI/CD processes to automate and manage data pipelines sourced from both internal and external systems. If you have a passion for data engineering and excel in fast-paced environments, this role might be an excellent fit for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF), DBT Labs, Snowflake, and Databricks.
  • Build reusable jobs and configuration-based integration frameworks to enhance scalability and streamline development.
  • Manage data ingestion for structured and unstructured data, leveraging ADLS, Salesforce, SharePoint Document Libraries, and partner datasets such as DHS, IHME, and WASDE.
  • Implement and optimize ELT processes, source-to-target mappings, and transformation logic using DBT Labs, ADF, Databricks Notebooks, and SnowSQL.
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, data engineers, report developers, and infrastructure engineers to provide end-to-end data support.
  • Co-develop CI/CD pipelines and automation with infrastructure engineers using GitHub Actions for seamless code deployment.
  • Automate source-to-target mappings, data pipelines, and data lineage using Collibra to enhance data governance.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Your values:
    • Integrity: You believe in doing the right thing, even when it's uncomfortable, seemingly inefficient, or costly.
    • Purposefulness: You have a desire to serve others with your skillset and an openness to continuous learning and growth.
    • Ownership: You stick to your commitments, follow up with action, and seek clarity in communication & expectations.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

  • Hands-on experience building data pipelines with ADF, Snowflake, Databricks, and DBT Labs.
  • Proficiency in Azure Cloud services, including Databricks, Snowflake, and ADLS Gen2 integration.
  • Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing and Lakehouse architecture, including ELT processes, Delta Tables, and External Tables for structured and unstructured data.
  • Familiarity with Databricks Unity Catalog and data-sharing technologies.
  • Expertise in CI/CD practices using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and version control with GitHub.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and provide technical support for data scientists, report developers, and analysts.

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Competitive compensation with opportunities for additional incentives. The annual salary range for this role is $140,000-$180,000.
  • Work/life balance – we know there’s more to life than work! We encourage our team to pursue other passions, get outside, and spend time with family. We work with clients and consultants to set expectations for a manageable workload.

LOCATION:

This role requires on-site presence at our client's location in Seattle, WA.
