WHAT YOU WILL DO:

We are looking for an experienced Data Infrastructure Consultant to be a key part of a high-energy team. In this role, you will design, deploy, and maintain cloud-based data infrastructure on Azure, optimizing Databricks and Snowflake performance, ensuring security, and automating deployments using Terraform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical solutions, enforce data governance, and support data-driven initiatives with a focus on scalability, performance, and compliance. If you have a passion for data infrastructure and excel in fast-paced environments, this role might be an excellent fit for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capacity Planning & Deployment: Plan, configure, deploy, and maintain Databricks clusters, workspaces, and Snowflake infrastructure on the Azure cloud.
  • Infrastructure Automation: Use Terraform to automate the provisioning and deployment of Databricks, Snowflake, and associated Azure resources, ensuring consistency and repeatability with an infrastructure-as-code approach.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize Databricks cluster performance and Snowflake resource utilization, resolving performance bottlenecks to maintain cost efficiency and optimal system performance.
  • Security & Access Control: Implement and manage access controls, RBAC, and security policies to safeguard sensitive data.
  • Environment Strategy & Governance: Develop environment strategies across the technology stack, ensuring adherence to best practices for infrastructure governance.
  • User Support: Provide technical support to Databricks and Snowflake users, addressing issues and troubleshooting to resolve system-related challenges.
  • Data Protection: Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity, availability, and business continuity.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, data engineers, and business analysts to understand requirements and provide tailored technical solutions.
  • Data Governance & Quality: Establish and enforce data governance standards to ensure high data quality and compliance using tools like Databricks Unity Catalog, Collibra, and Snowflake Polaris.
  • Enterprise Standards: Support robust production environments by enforcing enterprise-level standards for data governance, quality, and security.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Your values:
    • Integrity: You believe in doing the right thing, even when it's uncomfortable, seemingly inefficient, or costly.
    • Purposefulness: You have a desire to serve others with your skillset and an openness to continuous learning and growth.
    • Ownership: You stick to your commitments, follow up with action, and seek clarity in communication & expectations.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

  • Data Platform Engineering: Proven experience in designing and delivering cloud-native data solutions on Azure using Terraform for infrastructure as code.
  • Cloud Platform Proficiency: Strong expertise in Azure, Databricks, Delta Lake, and Snowflake, with hands-on experience in data warehousing and lakehouse technologies.
  • Tooling Expertise: Familiarity with version control (GitHub), CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), data orchestration, and dashboarding tools.

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Competitive compensation with opportunities for additional incentives. The annual salary range for this role is $140,000-$180,000.
  • Work/life balance – we know there’s more to life than work! We encourage our team to pursue other passions, get outside, and spend time with family. We work with clients and consultants to set expectations for a manageable workload.

LOCATION:

This role requires on-site presence at our client's location in Seattle, WA.
