ABOUT THE ROLE

KalVista seeks an Associate Director of Digital Marketing who is responsible for the strategic alignment and execution of patient and HCP digital marketing activities for Ekterly in support of the brand’s growth. These activities support our multi-channel marketing programs to build awareness and demand generation for Ekterly. This role is ideal for a strategic yet hands-on digital marketer who thrives in a small, fast-paced biotech environment and is comfortable owning programs end to end—from planning through execution and optimization. This person will be responsible for driving awareness, engagement, and conversion across HCP and patient audiences while ensuring compliance with regulatory, legal, and medical standards. Key responsibilities include SEO, SEM, paid media, CRM, website evolution and digital asset management. This collaborative individual will need to work effectively with the marketing team as well as multiple external vendors and media platforms to drive results.

This position reports to the Senior Director, Patient and Digital Marketing and works with the broader Marketing team and field sales leads to identify differentiated digital marketing initiatives, messages and themes to drive impact and activation of our target patients and HCPs.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the digital lead for Ekterly, partnering closely with sales, medical, legal, and regulatory teams to execute integrated digital marketing strategy aligned with brand and commercial objectives
  • Lead digital campaign execution across paid media, websites, email, social, and emerging channels, identifying opportunities to optimize the digital customer journey across channels and touchpoints
  • Create and optimize digital ads to target various HCP and patient personas, utilizing Paid Search Ads, Paid Social, partner display ads etc
  • Manage updates and optimization of branded website content, including content and campaign updates, new pages and resources
  • Develop and deploy integrated CRM journeys, including the management of all aspects of email campaigns, including content development, campaign reporting and optimization
  • Partner with sales and field teams to ensure alignment of digital initiatives with promotional efforts and field feedback
  • Work with vendor partners to optimize monthly dashboards and enable analysis of campaign and channel performance to drive continuous optimization and inform future strategy
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations for brand and commercial leadership
  • Ensure all digital initiatives and assets comply with FDA regulations, company policies, and promotional review processes
  • Manage digital content review and approval workflows efficiently and accurately
  • Represent all digital materials submitted for promotional review to ensure all final resources meet our business objectives while ensuring compliance
  • Manage agency partners and vendors to ensure high-quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery of assets
  • Lead operational tactics such as master service agreements negotiations, SOW submission and the corresponding budget management for our digital efforts

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, life sciences, or a related field
  • 7–10 years of experience in digital marketing, with significant experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech, or healthcare, ideally with experience in a small or emerging biotech organization
  • Experience supporting a commercial brand, ideally with launch or early commercialization exposure
  • Strong understanding of digital channels, including paid media, SEO/SEM, email, websites, and social media
  • Familiarity with omnichannel marketing, CRM platforms, and marketing automation tools
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in a regulated environment
  • Hands-on mindset with the ability to operate strategically and tactically
  • Experience managing agencies and external partners
