The Underwriter I is a key participant in the underwriting process which includes the analysis of credit reports, bank statements, and various other business documentation.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for analysis of personal credit reports, business bank statements, background checks, and other relevant business documents, data gathering and research
  • Exposed to deal flow in a variety of industries including retail, leisure, restaurants, hospitality, healthcare, manufacturers, media, technology, and construction
  • Act as a key participant in the underwriting process which includes the analysis of credit reports, bank statements, and various other business documentation
  • Research, analyze and provide background information on counterparties
  • Communicate with sales organizations, sales managers, and merchants in both written and verbal form
  • Assist in the negotiation of transaction terms and credit structure
  • Responsibilities are subject to change to best suit the needs and interests of the business

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Diploma required, college degree preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills as well as a strong sense of accountability.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to evaluate industry trends, understand market dynamics and develop and defend recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability and desire to work in a rapid-paced environment.
  • Experience achieving metric and quality performance

Additional Required Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite
  • Knowledge of financial principles and processes, experience with financial statement analysis
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local regulatory requirements
  • Effective at communicating clearly and adaptability
  • Experience with administrative tasks
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism

  • Competitive Base Salary Range of $47,000 – $72,500. Kapitus is providing this as a good faith salary range to comply with applicable law. The applicant’s final salary will depend on a number of factors including the applicant’s geographic location, skills, and experience.
