The Operations Strategy - Process Engineering team plays a critical role in driving operational excellence and business transformation across the organization. As an intern on this team, you’ll be joining a high-impact group that bridges legacy operations with our forward-looking digital vision — ensuring efficiency, quality improvement, and scalable transformation. You will be working to improve process performance within our current operational and technological environment. You will support Kapitus' modernization by collaborating with product and data teams to gain process insights for strategic decisions and digital transformation.
What You’ll Do:
Process Repository Development Project
- Map current process flows for a department or function.
- Add supplementary metadata (e.g., key metrics, IT systems used, risk ratings).
- Develop an approach to objectively assess the maturity of each process.
- A centralized process repository that can be scaled enterprise-wide.
- A standardized process maturity framework.
Task Mining in Underwriting
- Collaborate with the underwriting efficiency team to define key process themes.
- Analyze data to identify patterns, inefficiencies, and automation opportunities.
- Synthesize insights to propose process improvements.
- Report detailing granular task patterns and suggested optimizations.
- Visualization of workflows for executive and team-level use.
What We Are Looking For:
- Strong proficiency in data analysis (Excel, Python, or R)
- Familiarity with process mapping tools or techniques (e.g., BPMN, Visio, Lucidchart)
- Demonstrated ability in systematic problem-solving and critical thinking
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Collaborative mindset and comfort working cross-functionally
- Exposure to process improvement frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma)
- Experience with task/process mining software (e.g., Celonis, UIPath Process Mining) is a plus but not required
