Kapitus is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Director of Product to lead high-impact product initiatives across the organization. This role will partner closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to shape product strategy, drive measurable business outcomes, and ensure disciplined execution across products and platforms.

While this is a Director-level role, it will initially operate as a senior individual contributor with end-to-end portfolio accountability. This leader must be equally comfortable defining strategy and driving execution. As the product function matures, this individual will build and lead a team of Product Owners and Business Analysts.

This role serves as a critical bridge between business priorities and technical delivery, ensuring that product investments improve revenue performance, operational efficiency, scalability, and customer experience.

 

What You’ll Do:

Product Strategy & Business Case Development

· Partner with the VP of Product to shape product vision, portfolio priorities, and long-term roadmap

· Develop clear business cases for new initiatives, including ROI analysis, cost considerations, risk assessment, and success metrics

· Translate company objectives into outcome-driven roadmaps grounded in measurable impact

· Ensure alignment across Product, Engineering, Sales, Operations, Legal, and Finance

· Drive prioritization decisions based on business value, effort, and strategic fit

Market Research & Opportunity Assessment

· Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer discovery to inform product direction

· Evaluate build vs. buy decisions through structured analysis

· Identify growth opportunities, monetization strategies, and operational efficiency improvements

· Present insights and recommendations to executive stakeholders with clarity and confidence

Vendor Evaluation, Management & Onboarding

· Identify, evaluate, and select third-party vendors or technology partners when appropriate, in accordance with vendor onboarding and compliance requirements

· Lead due diligence, contract evaluation, and implementation planning in partnership with Legal, Finance, and Technology

· Oversee vendor onboarding and integration into internal systems and workflows

· Monitor vendor performance, ROI, and ongoing value realization

Hands-On Product Ownership (Immediate Need)

· Act as Product Owner for key initiatives until additional roles are hired

· Ensure solutions are scalable, repeatable, and well-documented

· Drive initiatives from concept through launch and post-release performance measurement

Operational Foundation & Team Building

· Refine product management processes, documentation standards, and intake frameworks

· Establish and enforce scalable prioritization and governance models

· Participate in hiring and onboarding of future Product Owners and Business Analysts

· Mentor and develop team members as the organization grows

Execution & Accountability

· Ensure predictable delivery and strong cross-functional communication

· Serve as escalation point for product trade-offs and decision-making

· Define and track KPIs tied to revenue, operational efficiency, and customer impact

· Continuously refine processes to improve speed, quality, and transparency

· Scale impact through strong judgment, prioritization discipline, and process improvement before expanding team size

 

What We’re Looking For:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred

· 8–12+ years of product management experience with demonstrated ownership of complex initiatives, platforms, or portfolios

· Experience in fintech, lending, financial services, or other regulated or risk-managed environments, with a strong understanding of financial systems, processes, and industry best practices

· Proven track record of delivering measurable business outcomes, including revenue growth, operational efficiency gains, or improvements in sales performance

· Ability to operate strategically while driving execution, managing both long-term product direction and day-to-day delivery outcomes

· Strong business judgment and the ability to make principled tradeoffs when balancing risk, speed, and value

· Intellectual agility and comfort operating in ambiguity within fast-moving or evolving environments

· Demonstrated ability to scale impact through sound judgment, prioritization, and operational discipline before expanding headcount

· Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and external partners, building alignment and trust across cross-functional stakeholders

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively in executive forums and translate complex concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences

· Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a data-driven approach and attention to detail

· High accountability with a bias toward measurable outcomes, continuous improvement, and operational excellence

Preferred Skills:

· Experience in managing sales related products and processes

· Experience with Salesforce and API integrations

· Demonstrated ownership of measurable business outcomes

· Professional certifications in Product Management and/or Agile Practices

Kapitus Total Rewards Package Includes:

Competitive Base Salary Range of $120,400-$193,200 Kapitus is providing this as a good faith salary range to comply with applicable law. The applicant’s final salary will depend on a number of factors including the applicant’s geographic location, skills, and experience.
