Our Content team is committed to creating high-quality technical interview questions that are used to assess engineering talent around the world. Working in various technical domains, we produce new interview questions (known internally as "content") on a weekly basis and are responsible for the writing, testing, publishing, and monitoring of all Karat content.
What you will do
As a Technical Curriculum Designer at Karat, you will be responsible for architecting new, innovative technical interview content formats. This includes leading the evolution of Karat’s extensive content library for AI-driven changes in engineering and technical roles.
- Design new, innovative technical interview formats, including assessing AI abilities.
- Leverage modern AI solutions to rapidly prototype new formats and review testing results to ensure interview quality.
- Lead Karat’s interview content library updates for modern AI-led engineering practices.
- Utilize instructional design principles to create objective interview scoring rubrics.
- Collaborate with external and internal subject matter experts to ensure technical interview content validity.
- Create training materials for Karat’s Interview Engineers on new content formats, including instructional text, quizzes, and training videos.
- Work closely with Karat’s Content Development Engineers to create new interview content.
The experience you will bring
- 5+ years of experience in technical curriculum design (engineering and computer science preferred), with proven ability to align content with business/client needs
- Strong project and program management skills, including building processes that improve efficiency, visibility, and compliance
- Hands-on experience developing objective-based rubrics and instructional plans for technical content assessment
- Experience and a passion for working with modern AI solutions to optimize content design and prototyping
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise content strategies
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Proven record of operating independently with high-output and strict deadlines
- Hands-on engineering or programming experience a plus
This position is only available to candidates residing in the following U.S. states: CA, CT, Washington D.C., FL, GA, IL, KS, MA, MD, MO, NC, NV, NY, OR, PA, RI, SC, TX, VA, and WA. U.S. Compensation Varies by Geographic Location
At Karat, salary ranges for each U.S.-based position are determined by the employee's work location. We structure our compensation into geographic tiers based on market data and regional economic factors.

Base Salary (GeoLo 1)
$117,000 - $130,000 USD
Base Salary (GeoLo 2)
$105,300 - $117,000 USD
Base Salary (GeoLo 3)
$93,600 - $104,000 USD
Base Salary (GeoLo 4)
$81,900 - $91,000 USD
