Job Overview
Kardigan is seeking a Manager, Insights & Analytics to be responsible for data analysis and to drive the development of data-based insights to support strategic and operational decision making. As a key member of the commercial team you will manage data analysis and insights generation, integration and communication. You will also manage competitive intelligence, forecasting, and primary and secondary market research with key stakeholders such as patients, physicians and payers. The Manager, Insights & Analytics will work closely with multiple teams including Commercial, Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, R&D, Portfolio Strategy, Program Management and Business Development. This position will require strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to structure and interpret data and to integrate insights across multiple sources. The position also requires business acumen and a deep understanding of pharmaceutical operations to ensure the successful development, launch and growth of our products. The position is based in South San Francisco, CA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manage competitive intelligence. Build and maintain competitive intelligence dashboards and reports. Monitor competitor drug development activities, analyze regulatory filings, and assess potential market impact. Communicate insights to key stakeholders.

Evaluate clinical trial results from potential competitors, interpret data, and identify key findings to informal internal strategy and development decisions

Analyze market data, including from patient claims for instance, and market research results to identify trends and uncover insights

Review and analyze epidemiology studies to characterize potential patient populations and determine appropriate market segmentation

Evaluate pricing trends, payer dynamics and access barriers to inform pricing and market access strategy

Assess market potential for new opportunities, analyze competitor landscape, and identify emerging trends within specific therapeutic areas.

Manage forecasting. Create financial projections and models for both current development program and potential product candidates, including addressable patients, revenue forecasts and NPV analysis

Support business development activities by conducting commercial due diligence on potential opportunities to assess market potential and strategic fit, for instance

Communicate research findings and key insights to internal stakeholders through presentations and reports

Develop and evolve analytics best practices, identify data sources, vendor options, and methodologies that are best suited to address a business need
Qualifications and Preferred Skills
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 to 8 years of investment, marketing, consulting, or agency experience in healthcare/biopharmaceuticals, or an equivalent combination of experience and education. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Proficient in data analysis and financial modeling
- Experience conducting and/or evaluating secondary data sources, primary market research and ability to analyze market data
- Ability to interpret complex scientific data, identify key trends and extract meaningful insights
- An entrepreneurial and innovative spirit, with an ability to develop creative solutions to complex problem
- Collaboration: Ability to effectively collaborate in and across multiple functions, and with internal and external stakeholders of various backgrounds and skill sets. Skilled in establishing a collaborative and respectful environment.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Industry Knowledge: Extensive healthcare industry knowledge (i.e., managed care, patient, provider, pharma company, pharma / biotech technology, and disease area trends)
- Strategic and Analytical: Strong strategic and analytical thinking with the ability to synthesize market data, customer insights, and scientific information into actionable insights
- Business Excellence: Strong project and process management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines
