Job Overview

Kardigan is seeking a Sr. Director of Planning to support development of a large late phase portfolio. This role will report directly into the VP, Head of External Manufacturing & Supply Chain. 

In this role, you will be responsible to lead the strategic and operational aspects of supply chain planning, encompassing API and DP planning for both clinical and non-clinical requirements, Clinical Development programs’ level Long Range Planning (LRP), and driving recommendations for product level Supply Chain resilience strategy. This role ensures the seamless alignment of CMC and supply chain activities with the company’s clinical and commercial objectives, driving efficiency and mitigating risks. 

This is a 4-day, onsite position, based in South San Francisco

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with CMC to understand lead times, batch sizes, and manufacturing complexities for each product to develop and oversee comprehensive plans for API and DP production, ensuring alignment with clinical and commercial timelines
  • Lead Clinical supply planning for API and DP, working closely with the Head of Clinical Supply Chain to understand packaging requirements for each clinical trial, ensuring timely availability of materials for all study phases
  • Oversee demand and supply planning for non-clinical activities, including research and development, ensuring the availability of necessary materials and resources
  • Work closely with Clinical Development and Regulatory Affairs to synchronize CMC plans with long-range program study requirements and regulatory submissions
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the Head of External Manufacturing to incorporate Kardigan’s network of key suppliers and partners in the resilience plans to ensure a robust and responsive supply chain for each product
  • Align LRP with financial planning, capacity assessments, and clinical & market forecasts to ensure readiness for future demands
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate LRP into overall business strategy
  • Develop and implement long-term supply chain strategies that support the company’s growth and product pipeline
  • Develop and recommend strategies to enhance supply chain resilience, including risk assessment, contingency planning, and diversification of supply sources
  • Monitor global supply chain trends and potential disruptions, proactively adjusting plans to mitigate risks


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, Planning, Manufacturing, or other Supply Chain discipline, preferably in the Biotechnology / Pharmaceutical industry
  • Proven track record in demand and supply planning, long-range strategic planning, and supply chain risk management
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and drive cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience with regulatory requirements related to pharmaceutical supply chains
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, proven ability to build and maintain collaborative, effective internal and external relationships
  • Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills along with the ability to communicate effectively with executive-level management
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment    
  • B.A. or B.S. or equivalent, experience in supply chain, shipping and/or logistics or related field. MBA preferred as additional qualification
  • Supply chain certification is a plus (e.g. APICS, CPIM, CSCP)

$248,000 - $323,000 USD
