Position Summary 

The Associate Director, Medical Affairs Congress Strategy will lead the development and execution of Kardigan's integrated congress strategy across aortic stenosis, genetic DCM, and acute severe hypertension programs. This highly visible role will be responsible for maximizing the scientific, educational, and strategic value of congress participation through thoughtful planning, evidence dissemination, stakeholder engagement, insight generation, and omnichannel amplification. The role partners closely with Scientific Communications, Medical Directors, Clinical Development, Field Medical, Patient Advocacy, Investor Relations, and Corporate Communications to ensure congress activities support broader Medical Affairs and company objectives. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Congress Strategy Development 

  • Lead development of annual and multi-year congress strategies across Kardigan's portfolio. 
  • Identify and prioritize congress opportunities aligned with Medical Affairs objectives, evidence generation milestones, scientific communication priorities, and launch readiness goals. 
  • Define congress-specific objectives, success metrics, stakeholder engagement plans, and insight-generation priorities. 

 

Congress Execution 

Support Medical Affairs activities across the full congress lifecycle: 

Pre-Congress 

  • Congress planning workshops 
  • Scientific content planning 
  • Medical booth strategy 
  • KOL engagement planning 
  • MSL preparation and training 
  • Internal leadership briefings 

During Congress 

  • Medical booth and scientific exchange activities 
  • Scientific session coverage 
  • Competitive intelligence gathering 
  • Insight capture 
  • Executive briefings 
  • KOL and investigator engagements 

Post-Congress 

  • Congress summaries and strategic assessments 
  • Insight synthesis and reporting 
  • Leadership presentations 
  • Recommendations for future congress activities 

Congress Operations & Excellence 

  • Lead development and management of integrated congress planning processes, timelines, governance structures, and cross-functional execution plans. 
  • Develop and maintain congress dashboards, milestone tracking tools, post-congress performance metrics. 
  • Establish scalable operating procedures and best practices to support increasing congress complexity as Kardigan advances toward commercialization. 

 Medical Symposia & Scientific Exchange 

  • Support development of medical symposia strategies. 
  • Partner on faculty identification and management. 
  • Partner on content strategy, scientific messaging, and educational objectives. 

 Omnichannel Congress Communications 

  • Partner with Scientific Communications to extend congress impact through:  
  • Podcasts 
  • Digital content 
  • Educational assets 
  • Disease-state education initiatives 

 Insight Generation and Sharing 

  • Build structured congress insight-generation frameworks and methodologies across the medical affairs team. Synthesize findings from congresses, KOL engagements, scientific sessions, and investigator discussions to communicate to internal stakeholders 
  • Work with cross-functional teams to translate congress intelligence into actionable recommendations that inform evidence generation, clinical development, medical strategy, publication planning and launch readiness activities.  

 

Qualifications 

Required 

  • Experience supporting major medical congresses. 
  • Strong understanding of scientific communications and evidence dissemination. 
  • Demonstrated project leadership skills in complex cross-functional environments. 
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills. 

 

Preferred 

  • 7+ years of pharmaceutical or biotech Medical Affairs experience preferred  
  • Advanced life sciences degree (PhD, PharmD) 
  • Cardiovascular therapeutic area experience. 
  • Global congress planning experience. 
  • Experience supporting pre-launch or launch-stage products. 
  • Familiarity with publication planning and medical education strategy 

 

Exact Compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location.

Pay range

$187,000 - $244,000 USD
