In the coming years, our goal is to rapidly scale our impact by bringing economic opportunities to millions of underserved users in India.

Key Responsibilities

Quantitative Research:

  1. Index Development: Support design and development of socio-economic indices using unit-level datasets.
  2. Impact Estimation: Statistical impact assessment using statistical software such as R or Stata, including Randomized Controlled Trials (RCT) or quasi-experimental methods.
  3. Sample Size Estimation: Calculate and validate appropriate sample sizes for surveys and impact assessments.
  4. Survey Tool Development: Design survey tools tailored for social and development sector projects.
  5. Data Handling: Experience extracting and work with development sector datasets (NFHS, PLFS, etc.), or demonstrate a strong desire to learn and apply these data sources.
  6. Data Validation: Validate and triangulate survey data using robust methodologies.
  7. Mixed Methods: Combine qualitative and quantitative research approaches to ensure comprehensive analysis.
  8. Publications (Preferred): Candidates with prior publications will be given preference.

Internal Monitoring & Data Management:

  1. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to co-develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) at the input, activity, and output levels for various projects.
  2. Data Management: Consolidate disparate datasets using Excel (pivots, VLOOKUPs) and other tools to ensure seamless data integration and basic visualization. 
  3. Development Sector Understanding: Demonstrate an understanding of the broader development and social sector landscape, with a specific interest in poverty-related issues.
  4. Technical Skills: Familiarity with SQL, strong Excel skills, and basic knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP) are desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Analyst: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields with at least 1 year of relevant full time work experience. 
  • Associate: Master’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related fields with at least 1 year of work experience. 
  • Specialist: Master’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related fields with a 3 or more  years of work experience. 
  • Prior experience working with unit-level datasets such as NFHS, PLFS, or similar.
  • Previous experience in Monitoring and Evaluation, designing KPIs, impact estimation, and monitoring frameworks in development projects is preferred. 
  • Publication in relevant academic or policy journals is a strong advantage.
