General Manager, Full Building

The Role

Kasa is looking to add a highly motivated individual to join our Property Operations team to oversee a one-of-a-kind property in Skowhegan. As a Building Manager, you will have responsibility for the on-the-ground operations of this property, including management of physical and technical challenges. You will also serve as the face of Kasa on the ground for Kasa guests and building residents.

In this role, you will work closely with Kasa's centralized Property Operations support team and the Ownership team to make the property successful and safe for all of our guests and residents. It takes a special person to oversee this property, and we hope you're excited by the challenge!

Responsibilities:

  • Hotel - Manage “The Skowhegan” Hotel [20 Hotel Keys; Time Commitment: ~40%]
    • Ensure hotel rooms are 100% guest-ready for all check-ins by managing in-unit technology, locks and maintenance tasks
    • Ensure housekeeping quality is maintained through daily quality assurance checks, and coaching for the housekeeping team
    • Manage & order inventory of guests' supplies across linen, consumables, and operational requirements while staying within budget
    • Regularly communicate with the hotel operators' central teams to ensure all proper information is loaded into the correct systems
    • Complete guest-facing tasks and special requests as needed
    •  Be the public face to hotel guests to drive hospitality and positive guest reviews
  • Events - Manage Event Spaces [Time Commitment: ~30%]
    • Source events and facilitate event bookings for weddings, conferences, parties, etc.
    • Collaborate with the property food and beverage partner to foster a seamless event experience
    • Create partnerships with other local businesses to drive events and hotel traffic
    • Oversee community relations on behalf of The Skowhegan Hotel
    • Coordinate and manage events including contracting, setting up, taking down, etc. (coordinate hourly support staff to facilitate events)
    • A flexible schedule, expected including some nights and weekends
  • Residential - Manage the Spinning Mill Apartments [41 Apartments; Time Commitment: ~30%]
    • Coordinate and manage residential leasing tours
    • Own the residential property’s software process including lease organization & tenant communication
    • Manage all maintenance and tenant requests and, where appropriate, coordinate with property and asset management teams
    • Develop and oversee a residential events schedule
    • Manage common areas and amenities to foster strong leasing and community
    • Support property and asset management team with property vendor selection and oversight
    • Support asset management team monthly reporting process

Experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in relevant hospitality, real estate management and/or leadership roles
  • Comfort using technology and willingness to learn new software is critical.
  • Events and/or wedding planning a plus.
  • Exposure to Quickbooks or tenant management software a plus.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must have strong organizational skills and be a true self-starter – this is a leadership role. Must be capable of liaising with a variety of different professionals, public officials and community stakeholders. Ability to represent the Property, establishing positive rapport among customers, key stakeholders, and the community at large.
