Operations Manager — Traverse City Area (3 Properties)

The Role
Kasa is looking to add a highly motivated individual to join our Property Operations team to oversee three one-of-a-kind properties in and near Traverse City, MI. As an Operations Manager, you will have full responsibility for on-the-ground operations at these locations, including managing physical and technical challenges across the portfolio. You will also serve as the face of Kasa for guests and building partners in the region.

In this role, you will report to the Area General Manager and collaborate closely with Kasa's centralized Property Operations and Guest Experience teams to ensure each property is operating smoothly and delivering exceptional guest experiences. Managing multiple sites takes a unique combination of organization, flexibility, and leadership—and we hope you're excited by the opportunity!

This role is part of our Property Operations department. Our mission is to ensure our guests have a seamless, high-quality experience from check-in to check-out. Our team comes from diverse backgrounds and is distributed across the country, all united by a shared passion for hospitality and operational excellence.

Day in the Life of a Kasa Operations Manager

As the manager, your days will be dynamic and varied. You'll oversee daily operations, prioritize on-site needs across locations, and lead through both proactive planning and responsive problem-solving.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Regularly assessing unit conditions and building upkeep at all three properties.

  • Coordinating and overseeing contracted housekeeping and maintenance teams.

  • Managing on-site guest interactions and resolving escalated issues.

  • Identifying improvement opportunities, reducing costs, and enhancing guest experiences.

  • Ensuring all properties are compliant with local regulations, certifications, and safety protocols.

You will be the primary on-the-ground support during emergencies, including lockouts and urgent guest needs. As the eyes and ears across multiple locations, you will work with our Trust and Safety team on site-specific security protocols and guest concerns.

Your ability to manage time and travel efficiently between properties will be key to your success in this role.

Back of House Aspects

  • Define and build operational playbooks for each property to streamline processes and promote consistency.

  • Ensure compliance with local City and State reporting requirements across all locations.

  • Oversee contracted vendors and ensure service standards are met consistently.

  • Manage preventative maintenance programs across properties.

  • Partner with Procurement to establish PAR levels and manage supply inventory effectively.

  • Conduct regular inspections and provide feedback to ensure high cleanliness and safety standards.

Guest Experience

  • Serve as the face of Kasa at all three properties, delivering warm, reliable, and solutions-focused service.

  • Maintain seamless guest access and troubleshoot entry systems as needed.

  • Respond to emergencies and urgent guest requests, ensuring minimal disruption to guest stays.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in hospitality, property management, or a service-oriented field.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple sites, priorities, and teams.

  • Hands-on, resourceful, and comfortable taking initiative to solve problems on the fly.

  • Strong mix of front-of-house and back-of-house experience.

  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in spreadsheets and willingness to adopt new tools.

  • Budget-conscious and experienced in driving both guest satisfaction and profitability.

  • Comfortable working evenings or weekends when needed.

  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required for local travel between properties.

Plus if...

  • You've worked with alternative hospitality brands or in distributed property models.

  • You’ve led preventative maintenance programs or supported revenue-generating initiatives.

  • You have experience in community engagement or local partnerships.

  • Built trusted relationships with Kasa leadership and property stakeholders.

  • Launched at least one new revenue stream or amenity across the portfolio.

  • Developed growth plans for each property to increase market share and brand recognition.
