VP of Finance and Accounting

Remote (United States or Mexico)

About Kasa

Kasa is the leading tech-enabled hotel and apartment hotel brand and manager. Kasa has built a hospitality operating system that fundamentally improves the profitability of hospitality assets while delivering a high quality, digitally forward experience to guests. We partner with owners of multifamily and boutique hospitality properties to deliver stylish, professionally managed accommodations to business and leisure travelers alike. We took the best that hotels and short-term rentals had to offer and created a new class of hospitality that is well-priced, reliable, and offers a large selection of great locations.

Unlike traditional hotel operators, we prioritize automation, AI-driven pricing, and data-driven decision-making to optimize revenue and improve guest experiences.

Location: US or Mexico-based (hybrid or remote)

Role Overview

Kasa is seeking a visionary, systems-oriented Vice President of Finance to serve as the company’s top financial leader, reporting directly to the CEO. The mandate of the role is to build a high-precision finance engine that can support Kasa’s continued growth across a complex hospitality and real estate platform.

The VP of Finance will lead a global team of ~25 across the U.S., Mexico, and the Philippines and will transform the function into a faster, more automated, and more insightful function while maintaining best-in-class reporting accuracy for property owners and investors.

The priorities of this role are to:

  • Ensure accurate financial reporting across all entities and properties
  • Deliver predictable close and owner reporting cycles
  • Elevate the depth and value of financial reporting, including balance sheet, cash flow, and KPI segmentation
  • Drive efficiency and automation while maintaining accuracy and rigor

This role sits at the center of Kasa’s platform, touching every property, contract structure, and strategic initiative, and provides meaningful exposure to the Board, investors, and property owners as the organization's primary financial leader.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Reporting

  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close across corporate entities and 85+ property-level agreements
  • Oversee complex accounting including multi-contract structures, revenue recognition, intercompany allocations, and compliance with USALI, GAAP, and multi-jurisdiction tax rules
  • Lead external audits and maintain ongoing audit readiness
  • Ensure property-level and corporate reporting delivers accurate, insightful, and timely financial information

Revenue & Cash Integrity

  • Oversee cash reconciliations across bookings, leases, and multiple payment methods
  • Manage revenue adjustments, including cancellations, chargebacks, and timing differences
  • Maintain strong financial controls over bank accounts, cash, and owner-facing reporting

Operational Transformation & Automation

  • Audit and redesign workflows to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability
  • Implement AI and automation in reconciliation, variance detection, and reporting, while maintaining rigorous internal controls
  • Streamline monthly close, reporting, and FP&A processes to increase speed and insight

FP&A, Strategic Growth & Capital

  • Lead budgeting, rolling forecasts, and cash flow planning at property and corporate levels
  • Provide actionable insights to inform CEO, Board, and leadership decisions
  • Partner on fundraising, debt refinancing, and strategic capital initiatives
  • Model new fee structures, contract economics, and growth initiatives to maximize profitability

Team & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Lead and develop a distributed finance team across the US, Mexico, and the Philippines
  • Build a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement
  • Communicate clearly with Board, investors, executive leadership, and property owners

Qualifications

Industry & Experience

  • 15+ years leading finance teams in hospitality, travel, or real estate
  • Expertise with USALI, management agreements, and lease accounting
  • Experience managing multi-entity, multi-contract operations
  • Deep understanding of property-level P&Ls and owner reporting
  • CPA preferred; Big 4 a plus but not required with equivalent experience

Systems & Technical Expertise

  • Proficient in NetSuite, Adaptive Insights, and BI tools such as Looker
  • Skilled at integrating systems and streamlining workflows across AP, payroll, and revenue reconciliation
  • Strong knowledge of high-volume transactional accounting
  • Experienced partnering with product or engineering teams to improve systems and data flows

Forensic & Builder Mindset

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to trace financial anomalies
  • Builds repeatable, controlled, and documented processes
  • Track record of simplifying complex financial systems
  • Forward-looking approach to AI and automation while maintaining strong controls

Communication & Leadership

  • Translate complex agreements and structures into clear, actionable insights
  • Serve as primary financial voice with leadership, Board, and investors
  • Collaborative, credible, and calm leader of distributed teams

Why This Role Is Different

  • You will “upgrade the engine while the plane is flying”
  • Finance is a strategic weapon at Kasa, not a back-office function
  • Significant autonomy, visibility, and long-term upside as the company continues to scale with a clear path to broader financial leadership as the platform evolves

Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
