The Accountant is a key member of Katch’s Finance & Accounting team, supporting the monthly close process with a primary focus on general ledger and payroll-related accounting. This role is well-suited for an early- to mid-career accountant looking to broaden their experience in a growing, collaborative organization.
You’ll work closely with Accounting, People, and Finance partners to ensure accurate financial reporting while gaining exposure to multiple areas of the close process. Katch offers a supportive environment with clear priorities, strong leadership, and opportunities to grow your skills over time.
This role offers exposure to payroll accounting, benefits, and month-end close activities, with opportunities to take on additional responsibilities over time.
This role is a great fit if you:
- Have 2 – 5 years of general ledger or payroll-related accounting experience
- Want exposure to the full monthly close process in a growing organization
- Enjoy working in a smaller team where your work is visible and valued
- Prefer a hybrid role with flexibility to work from home two to three days a week
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and record month-end journal entries and accruals, including payroll, benefits, and expense-related items
- Reconcile payroll and benefits related general ledger accounts
- Review bi-weekly payroll for accounting accuracy and proper GL recording
- Analyze benefit invoices and investigate discrepancies
- Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and monthly close activities
- Support audits, special projects, and provide cross-coverage as needed
- Work collaboratively with the People Team and other departments, as needed, to resolve discrepancies and issues
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 2+ years of accounting or reconciliation experience
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Demonstrate solid attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Solid oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic working environment
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
- 2+ years payroll accounting experience
