The Accountant role is an important position on the Katch Finance & Accounting team, primarily focused
on maintaining the general ledger as part of the monthly close process. You’ll be rewarded and
recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you a clear direction
to succeed in your role.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Validate and record monthly payroll journal entries and accruals
- Reconcile all payroll and fringe benefit related general accounts
- Review and analyze all benefit invoices
- Prepare and record other journal entries and accruals, as assigned
- Reconcile other balance sheet accounts, as assigned
- Provide cross-coverage to other members of the team
- Work collaboratively with the People team to resolve issues
- Assist with audit requests and special projects as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 2+ years of accounting or reconciliation experience
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Demonstrate solid attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Solid oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic working environment
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
- 2+ years payroll accounting experience
Location: Louisville, KY – Hybrid schedule available
