Job summary
As an AI Product Engineer, you will be forward-deployed with users and internal teams to design, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions using platforms such as Palantir Foundry, Azure AI Foundry, and Databricks Agent Bricks. This is a hands-on, user-facing role that combines technical expertise with problem-solving and business acumen. You will be embedded with Investigations and Recovery teams to understand their challenges, architect solutions, and ensure successful implementation.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Investigations and Recovery teams to identify high-impact use cases for AI and data-driven solutions.
- Design, develop, fine-tune, and deploy AI tools for operational and analytical tasks using AI development environments like Palantir Foundry, Azure AI Foundry, and Databricks Agent Bricks.
- Integrate AI solutions with data pipelines and Katch’s subrogation workflow application.
- Ensure compliance with security, governance, and ethical AI standards.
- Create documentation required for AI governance boards.
- Continuously monitor and optimize deployed solutions for performance and reliability.
Qualifications
Required:
- Applied ML foundation: Solid foundation in applied ML, including problem framing, model training, and evaluation (e.g., metrics selection, offline/online validation, error analysis).
- Engineering background: Strong quantitative/engineering background (CS, Math, Stats, Physics, Software Engineering, ML or related), or equivalent practical experience building data/ML systems.
- Coding proficiency: Proficiency in Python and SQL for data/ML workflows; working knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript (and Angular or similar front-end framework). Experience with Java a plus.
- Business-to-technical execution: Ability to translate business goals into technical requirements, choose pragmatic solution approaches, and deliver iterative releases quickly (prototype to MVP to production), with clear success metrics.
- Collaboration: Strong cross-functional collaboration: can work effectively with product, ops, and stakeholders to align on requirements, communicate technical concepts clearly, and drive decisions.
- Dynamic environment: Comfortable operating in ambiguity and rapidly evolving priorities; able to iterate directly with users, incorporate feedback, and adjust solutions based on real-world constraints.
- Ownership and learning: Bias for action and ownership: proactively identifies gaps, unblocks progress, and continuously improves through learning and experimentation.
Education
- Preferred fields include Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Software Engineering, Machine Learning, or related disciplines (or equivalent practical experience).
