The Accounts Payable Supervisor with Katch oversees the daily operations of the accounts payable function to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant processing of invoices and payments. This role supervises AP staff, maintains strong internal controls, resolves discrepancies, and collaborates with internal departments and external vendors to support efficient financial operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support AP staff, including workload management and training
- Oversee the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and timely payment processing
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and delegation of payment authority
- Manage vendor relationships and maintain vendor records
- Resolve invoice discrepancies, inquiries, and payment issues
- Review and approve payment runs (checks, ACH, wire transfers)
- Reconcile AP subledger to the general ledger and assist with month-end and year-end close
- Prepare and review AP-related reports, metrics, and documentation for management and internal/external audits
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes
- Assist with system implementations, upgrades, and process automation initiatives
- Manage employee expense reimbursement process
- Prepare and record journal entries as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, related field or equivalent experience
- 3–5 years of accounts payable experience, prior supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and best practices
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic working environment
- Work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines
Location: Louisville, KY – Hybrid schedule ( 2 days onsite required)
