Production Supervisor
The Role
We’re seeking a dynamic, experienced Production Supervisor to oversee daily production of our innovative, waterless moisturizers at our Hudson Valley workshop in Red Hook, NY.
In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll guide and mentor a team of Production Assistants to meet daily goals, ensure quality and compliance, and continuously improve our processes. You’ll help scale our production operations to support the next phase of growth while maintaining Kate McLeod’s high standards for craftsmanship, safety, and care.

Key Responsibilities
Daily Production Supervision
- Lead and supervise daily production operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Inspect raw materials and finished goods through sensory and visual checks.
- Guide the team through formula or machinery troubleshooting.
- Maintain appropriate raw material and packaging inventory levels.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and motivate production team members to achieve goals and uphold standards.
- Train staff on SOPs, safety procedures, and new product formulations.
- Provide regular feedback, performance evaluations, and development opportunities.
- Support hiring and onboarding for production roles.
Operational Planning & Process Improvement
- Assist in creating production schedules and staffing plans to optimize resources.
- Collaborate with Operations leadership to evaluate and improve equipment, processes, and team structure.
- Identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
- Partner with R&D to translate new product formulations into scalable production processes.
Compliance & Safety
- Maintain and update SOPs to ensure alignment with regulations and best practices.
- Track and record production data including batch records, ingredient usage, waste, and equipment logs.
- Prepare for internal and external audits, ensuring documentation accuracy.
- Maintain ingredient standards and review quality and regulatory documentation.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized workspace at all times.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or production (skincare, CPG, or food industry required)
- Associate degree or technical equivalent preferred
- Strong knowledge of GMP, health and safety standards, and SOP management
- Experience leading teams across multiple production lines or product types
- Proficient in G Suite and Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to lead under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities at once
Requirements
- Ability to maintain quality and cleanliness standards
- Able to lift up to 55 lbs repeatedly and perform physical tasks (push, pull, bend, reach)
- Able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift
- Comfortable working safely with ingredients and chemicals
- Ability to operate basic production equipment and tools
