The Position:

We are seeking a PR Manager to join our North America Communications team. In this role, you will drive impactful PR strategies that elevate KAYAK's brand across both B2C and B2B media landscapes.

As an ideal candidate, you'll excel at:

  • Analyzing data and identifying trends to craft compelling narratives

  • Capitalizing on breaking news and social media trends through newsjacking initiatives

  • Delivering results across diverse media channels

  • Managing multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced environment

The role requires a proactive approach to media relations, the ability to craft tailored pitches, and the agility to respond swiftly to inbound opportunities. You will work closely with the North America Marketing team to align PR efforts with broader marketing strategies, as well as with global counterparts to ensure cohesive messaging and leverage international opportunities.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and Execute PR Plans: Design, implement, and manage public relations plans aligned with business objectives, ensuring consistent messaging across all media channels

  • Agency Management: Oversee and manage relationships with external PR agencies, ensuring alignment with internal strategies

  • Data-Driven Pitching: Analyze data trends, identifying newsworthy insights and proactively developing data-driven pitch opportunities for media outreach.

  • Media Relations and Outreach: Build and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts, influencers, and industry partners to secure high-level media placements and manage media inquiries

  • Content Creation and Messaging: Develop compelling narratives, including press releases, pitches, briefing docs, etc. that effectively communicate the brand's message

  • Team Leadership and Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as North America marketing and global counterparts, and provide strategic counsel to senior executives

  • Analytics and Reporting: Work with our external PR agency on monthly reports; Maintain and analyze PR analytics tools to measure campaign success, track media coverage, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders

  • Project Management: Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and alignment with business goals and objectives

  • Collaboration with Global and Internal Teams: Work closely with global counterparts and internal comms team to ensure cohesive messaging and leverage international opportunities for brand growth

 

Please apply if:

  • 5-8 years experience in Consumer PR and B2B media relations experience with confirmed results; Travel, Tech, and/or Hospitality PR experience is desired but not required

  • Track record of successfully executed media strategies and PR campaigns

  • Loves numbers; data is at the heart of all we do

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Loves news-jacking, identifying and completing ambitious storytelling opportunities

  • In-depth understanding of existing and emerging social platforms (experience in both traditional and digital PR tactics utilizing social media is a plus!)

  • Experience leading campaigns from conception to execution

  • Positive relationships with consumer, travel, tech, and lifestyle media outlets

  • Strong writing, editing and messaging skills

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. The range for this United States located role is $90,000 - $110,000.

In addition to a competitive base salary, roles are eligible for additional compensation and benefits including: annual cash bonus; health benefits; flexible spending account; retirement benefits; life insurance; paid time off (including PTO, paid sick leave, medical leave, bereavement leave, floating holidays and paid holidays); and parental leave and benefits.
