Excavator Operator

As an Excavator Operator, you will play a critical role in the success of our projects by operating and maintaining heavy excavation equipment. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative and dynamic environment where your skills and dedication will make a meaningful impact.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain heavy excavation equipment, specifically excavators, to perform digging, grading, trenching, and other site preparation tasks in support of construction activities.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance to ensure proper functionality and safety; promptly report any mechanical or operational issues to the maintenance team.
  • Collaborate with site crews to ensure excavation work is completed according to project specifications, schedules, and safety standards.
  • Operate additional equipment, such as backhoes, bulldozers, or skid steers, when required for specific tasks.
  • Follow all Keeley Construction safety protocols, complete incident reports as necessary, and participate in regular safety meetings and training.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, work performed, and progress on tasks, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Assist in site preparation and cleanup, ensuring that the work area is safe, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Consistently attend work as scheduled, demonstrating reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or project managers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a heavy equipment operator, with specific expertise operating excavators in a construction or similar environment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong knowledge of excavation processes, techniques, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and project specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to construction site safety regulations.

Additional Information:

  • This position requires regular physical activity, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Travel to various job sites may be required based on project needs.
