Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Groundman to join our Paving Group in Charlotte, NC. This role is essential to supporting site preparation, landscaping, and general labor tasks that contribute to the smooth and safe operation of our paving projects.

As a Paving Groundman, you will assist with site preparation by clearing debris, grading surfaces, and preparing soil for landscaping or construction activities. You’ll perform general landscaping duties such as planting, mulching, installing sod, trimming vegetation, and assisting with basic irrigation work. You will also operate small tools and equipment including shovels, rakes, trimmers, and blowers.

In this role, you'll help set up and maintain jobsite safety measures such as cones, barricades, and signage, and support the crew by loading, unloading, and transporting materials, tools, and equipment. Regular maintenance and cleaning of tools, vehicles, and equipment is also part of your daily responsibilities. Clear and consistent communication with supervisors and team members is key to completing tasks safely and efficiently.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 1–3 years of experience in construction, landscaping, or general labor (preferred).

  • Familiarity with landscaping tools, equipment, and basic safety procedures.

  • Physically able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and perform manual labor.
