Safety Technician (Heavy Industrial)

Keeley Construction is looking to hire a Safety Technician with our Heavy Industries Group for their project in Hastings, NE.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform both scheduled and unscheduled inspections of construction sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs, including orientations and ongoing sessions, focusing on the proper use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Assist in creating and enforcing safety policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect current best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead investigations into accidents and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to address safety concerns and ensure all parties are aligned with safety expectations.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, training sessions, and other relevant documentation.
  • Participate in safety meetings and committees to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in construction safety.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. 
  • 1–3 years of safety experience in an industrial construction setting or equivalent education required.
  • A strong understanding of construction safety regulations, hazard identification, and incident investigation required.
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and digital safety reporting tools.
  • OSHA 30-hour preferred.
  • Must be able to work on the project job site in Nebraska.
