Project Engineer (Civil)

Keeley Construction is looking to hire a Project Engineer for our Civil Infrastructure Group in St. Louis, MO. This individual must be willing to travel to jobsite locations based on project demands.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate work, documentation, and correspondence between all project team members. 
  • Assist in bid solicitation and estimate functions. 
  • Adhere to OSHA and Company safety requirements.   
  • Prepare and maintain submittal/RFI logs for construction projects based on project drawings and specifications. 
  • Document and communicate scope changes and other related project impacts to project team. 
  • Coordinate the change proposal, review, and submission process. 
  • Participate in all required construction meetings with required personnel, subcontractors, designers, and owners. 
  • Capable of planning and preparing detailed project schedules for up to three months in advance, ensuring alignment with project timelines and milestones. 
  • Actively participates in job shadowing with Superintendents and Project Managers to gain hands-on experience and a clear understanding of role expectations and required skill sets. 
  • Reads and interprets project plans or demonstrates a willingness to learn, ensuring comprehension of scheduled tasks and how they are to be executed on-site. 
  • Understands and performs administrative processes such as obtaining permits, meeting contractual obligations (e.g., submittals, insurance, bonds, billing, closeout documentation), timekeeping, progress reporting, billing and collections, managing subcontracts, processing accounts payable, and handling change orders. 
  • Proactively identifies and addresses potential issues related to safety, quality, and site conditions, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of six months of applicable internship experience in the construction industry or equivalent work experience. 
  • Must be willing to travel as needed.
