About the Role
As the Manager, Data Engineering, you will lead a team of data engineers and data analysts responsible for architecting, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure and pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives across the company. You will enable reliable self-service business intelligence while ensuring the underlying data platform is scalable, high-quality, and secure. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders to define data requirements and deliver scalable, high-impact data solutions. This role requires strong technical leadership, people management experience across mixed skill sets, and the ability to drive strategic direction for the data engineering function.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of data engineers and data analysts, ensuring strong collaboration between data platform development and analytics delivery.
- Define and communicate the strategic vision for data infrastructure that enables self-service analytics and accelerates time to insight
- Oversee the design and development of scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform and deliver high-quality data from various sources
- Implement data quality frameworks, monitoring systems and validation processes to ensure accuracy, consistency and reliability
- Partner with data scientists, analysts and software engineers to design and implement complex data models and analytical solutions
- Guide the development and automation of data processing workflows
- Maintain hands on technical proficiency to accurately assess task complexity, review code and validate time estimates
- Drive performance management processes including goal setting, feedback cycles and performance improvement plans when needed
- Foster a culture of transparency where team members surface risks and delays early
- Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements, communicate technical concepts and deliver actionable, data-driven insights
- Drive continuous improvement, operational excellence and innovation within the Data Engineering team
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience in data engineering or software engineering, including 4+ years in a leadership or management role
- Strong expertise in building and optimizing large-scale data pipelines using modern data technologies (in AWS)
- Experience with cloud-based data warehousing and transformation tools (e.g., Amazon Redshift, dbt) and supporting downstream analytics platforms
- Proficiency in SQL and Python along with strong knowledge of data modeling principles
- Solid understanding of database systems, including SQL, NoSQL and distributed database concepts
- Experience with data security, privacy principles and regulated data environments
- Strong foundation in software engineering principles, version control, testing and deployment best practices
- Proven track record of building accountability systems and improving team velocity/predictability
- Experience estimating data engineering work and managing against deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Hands on technical skills sufficient to review pull requests, validate architectural decisions and assess technical complexity
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or a related field

Keeper ensures that all our third parties are contractually bound to protect your personal data with adequate safeguards in place.
5. International Transfers
Your data may be accessed by Keeper entities globally as needed for the purposes of hiring and decision making. We protect any such data transfer between Keeper entities using appropriate safeguards under applicable data protection laws.
6. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, consistent with our industry leading security standards.
7. Retention
We keep your data for 24 months from your last application activity, then delete or anonymize it.
Exceptions:
- You opt into our talent database for further retention by providing consent (extended retention)
- You're hired (transfers to employee records)
8. Your Rights
You have the following rights and can contact us at the email below to exercise them:
- Access, correct, or delete your data, subject to applicable law and retention requirements
- Object to or restrict processing
- Withdraw consent (where applicable)
- Request data portability
- Lodge a complaint with your data protection authority
If you become an employee, your rights regarding your employee record are governed by our internal Employee Privacy Notice and certain data will be retained as required under relevant laws such as employment or tax law.
When you request access to your personal data, some information may be redacted if it includes the personal data of other individuals or information that we must protect in order to preserve their privacy rights.
