Keeper Security is hiring an experienced SDET Automation Engineer, BE to develop and execute automated test scripts, enhance test suites, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless user experiences across web applications. This is a 100% remote position, with an opportunity to work a hybrid schedule for candidates based in the El Dorado Hills, CA or Chicago, IL metro area.

About the Job
As a SDET Automation Engineer within Keeper’s Quality Engineering organization, you will develop and execute automated test scripts using the Playwright framework, ensuring seamless functionality for web applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement effective test automation strategies, while maintaining and enhancing existing test suites in alignment with application updates.
This role requires a strong engineering mindset, deep automation expertise, and the ability to influence quality strategy across teams. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, security engineers, SRE, and product teams to deliver high-quality, resilient features for enterprise customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute automated test scripts using Playwright framework
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement test automation strategies
- Maintain and enhance existing automated test suites to ensure they align with application updates
- Identify, record, and track software defects, and verify fixes through re-testing.
- Perform end-to-end testing for various web applications to ensure seamless user experience
- Analyze test results, generate reports, and provide feedback to the team
- Integrate manual test paths using API scripts into software UI for process automation
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices in test automation
- Work with other software engineers to optimize automation development improvement and its functionality
Requirements
- 3+ years of programming experience with Javascript, Python, and Robot.JS
- Strong problem solver with focus on code design, quality and architecture
- Create and manage end-to-end automated test cases using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks
- Working knowledge of software development methodologies and tools including experience with automated build systems, version and project control and issue tracking systems
- Experience with Cross Browser Testing Like: Chrome, Firefox, and Safari
- Experience with Browser Extension is a plus
- Familiarity with relational databases (SQL server, MySQL, etc.)
- Experience with other testing frameworks or tools (e.g., Cypress, Jest) is a plus

- Background verification vendors (post offer)
- Recruitment agencies (where applicable)

Keeper ensures that all our third parties are contractually bound to protect your personal data with adequate safeguards in place.
5. International Transfers
Your data may be accessed by Keeper entities globally as needed for the purposes of hiring and decision making. We protect any such data transfer between Keeper entities using appropriate safeguards under applicable data protection laws.
6. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, consistent with our industry leading security standards.
7. Retention
We keep your data for 24 months from your last application activity, then delete or anonymize it.
Exceptions:
- You opt into our talent database for further retention by providing consent (extended retention)
- You're hired (transfers to employee records)
8. Your Rights
You have the following rights and can contact us at the email below to exercise them:
- Access, correct, or delete your data, subject to applicable law and retention requirements
- Object to or restrict processing
- Withdraw consent (where applicable)
- Request data portability
- Lodge a complaint with your data protection authority
If you become an employee, your rights regarding your employee record are governed by our internal Employee Privacy Notice and certain data will be retained as required under relevant laws such as employment or tax law.
When you request access to your personal data, some information may be redacted if it includes the personal data of other individuals or information that we must protect in order to preserve their privacy rights.
