Legal Case Manager

Purpose: Keller Postman seeks a Case Manager to support its practice of representing a broad array of clients as plaintiffs in complex litigation at the trial and appellate levels. The Case Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for clients within a certain practice area. Working closely with the attorney team, the Case Manager will be tasked with gathering information from clients and communicating specific information to clients during the course of the case.  

This is a remote role, but the candidate must reside in the greater Chicagoland area.

Essential Functions: 

  • Regularly communicate with clients to request and review documentation related to the case.  
  • Conduct phone calls with clients to gather required information in order to further qualify them for cases.  
  • Perform data compilation, data cleanup, and QA on various types of data.  
  • Accurately file documents in the appropriate databases with all required information and notes.  
  • Perform a variety of file maintenance tasks for electronic files in compliance with the firm’s policies. This includes creating and retrieving files when necessary.  
  • Assist clients with the discovery phase of a case and provide pre-determined answers to their questions, refraining from providing legal advice.  
  • Work collaboratively with a team on various overflow projects such as preparing for filings, hearings/trials, and depositions.   
  • Other duties as assigned.  

Required Skills and Abilities: 

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.  
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Ability to be empathetic to clients in various situations. 
  • Excellent time-management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.  
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion and good judgment.  
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently or as part of a team. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Outlook, and Excel. 

Education/Experience: 

  • 1-3 years related experience in customer or client services is preferred.  
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required. 

 

This is a full-time, hourly-paid position with a compensation range of $22.00 to $24.30 per hour.
