
Linux System Administrator Level 2-4 (SF)
Position Summary:
The Kenjya-Trusant Group is looking for a Systems Administrator to support our Maryland Customer for cross domain solutions. The Systems Administrator will perform a variety of functions, depending on the level required. The specific demonstrated skills, as more fully set forth at each level may include: providing support for the implementation and operation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux-based Information Technology (IT) systems or Red Hat Derivative systems, installing and configuring Linux-based operating systems and their services.
Essential Job Functions:
- Conduct day-to-day operations, such as account management, system health and status checks, and internal technical and security log review.
- Identify capacity, performance, and reliability issues and escalating them for resolution.
- Apply patches and configuration changes according to provided direction.
- supporting the dispatching of hardware technicians, and performing hardware maintenance.
- Manage the system as part of an integrated solution, assisting related administrators in troubleshooting and correcting network and storage subsystem issues.
- Automate tasks and using tools in order to provide concurrent management of multiple systems.
- Correct deficiencies and errors related to capacity, performance, and reliability.
- Communicate status to agency management and internal customers.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Due to the nature of this position and the information employees will be able to access; US Citizenship is required.
- Required Security Clearance: TS/SCI w/ Poly.
Level 2 :
- High School diploma with two (2) years demonstrated IT experience in any related field.
- Provide support for the implementation and operation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux-based Information Technology (IT) systems.
- Install and configure Linux-based operating systems and their services according to provided specifications.
- Conduct day-to-day operations, such as account management, system health and status checks, and internal technical and security log review.
- Identify and correct common deficiencies and errors.
- Identify capacity, performance, and reliability issues and escalate them for resolution.
- Apply patches and configuration changes according to provided direction.
- Support the dispatching of hardware technicians and perform hardware maintenance.
Level 3:
- High School diploma with five (5) years demonstrated IT experience in any related field.
- Three years demonstrated Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administration experience within the last six (6) years.
- Configure Linux-based operating systems and their services according to system requirements.
- Identify and correct most deficiencies and errors related to capacity, performance, and reliability.
- Identify patches and configuration changes according to system requirements.
- Manage the system as part of an integrated solution, assisting related administrators in troubleshooting and correcting network and storage subsystem issues.
Level 4:
- High School diploma with nine (9) years demonstrated IT experience in any related field.
- Five years demonstrated Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administration experience within the last eight (8) years.
- Configure Linux-based operating systems and their services in order to maximize system performance and reliability.
Desired/Preferred Skills:
- An active certification related to Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administration, such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) must be obtained after 6 months of hire.
Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
The proposed salary range for this position is:
Level 2: $130,000 - $250,000
Level 3: $135,000 - $265,000
Level 4: $140,000 - $275,000
