Business Development Manager

Responsible for driving new business opportunities and growing client relationships within the meetings, incentives, conferences, and events sector. This role focuses on identifying prospective corporate clients, developing strategic partnerships, and promoting customized incentive travel programs, meetings, conferences, and event solutions that align with client objectives. The position works closely with operations, creative, and leadership teams to deliver innovative experiences while achieving revenue and growth targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to generate new MICE business opportunities
  • Identify and prospect corporate clients through networking, referrals, industry events, and direct outreach
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and industry partners
  • Collaborate with creative to customize proposals, presentations, and bid responses for meetings, conferences, and incentive programs
  • Collaborate with operations and production teams to ensure seamless program delivery and client satisfaction
  • Attend trade shows, client events, networking functions, and industry association meetings
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements with clients and suppliers
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reporting, and CRM updates
  • Stay informed on industry trends, destination developments, and competitor activity within the MICE market
  • Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to overall company revenue growth
  • Represent the company professionally at client meetings, site inspections, and industry events

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the MICE, hospitality, or travel industry
  • Strong understanding of corporate meetings, incentive travel, conferences, and event planning processes
  • Proven ability to generate leads, close business, and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and networking skills
  • Experience with CRM systems, proposal development, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple opportunities and deadlines
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, trade shows, and onsite program support
