Associate Vice President, Retail Media

The Associate Vice President (AVP), Retail Media - a leader within our Strategy & Activation team - will oversee a high-performing team of retail media experts and be accountable for the success and growth of enterprise ecommerce and omnichannel client relationships.

As a senior client leader, you will serve as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, bringing a holistic view of the retail media landscape across platforms such as Amazon Ads, Walmart Connect, Target Roundel, Criteo, Instacart, and other emerging retail media networks. You will be responsible for translating client business objectives into scalable, full-funnel retail media strategies that drive measurable impact.

In this role, you will inspire teams to deliver excellence in execution, innovation, and performance. You’ll oversee the development of sophisticated media strategies, guide investment decisions across platforms, ensure operational rigor, and drive advanced analytics to continuously optimize outcomes.

This position requires a strong balance of strategic leadership, deep platform expertise, and hands-on problem solving. You will play a critical role in evolving Kepler’s retail media capabilities, shaping best practices, and identifying new opportunities for growth and innovation across the practice.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as a senior strategic expert across retail media platforms (including Amazon Ads, Walmart Connect, Target Roundel, Criteo, Instacart, and others), guiding teams and clients on planning, investment strategy, partner selection, campaign design, and measurement
  • Act as a senior point of contact for assigned client(s), with accountability for client success; regularly interface with senior client stakeholders and internal executive leadership
  • Partner with clients to understand business goals, marketing objectives, and competitive dynamics, translating them into integrated retail media strategies
  • Lead and develop a team of Directors, Associate Directors, Managers, etc. by providing strategic direction, coaching, and mentorship to drive high performance and career growth
  • Oversee the execution of complex, multi-platform retail media campaigns, ensuring consistency, quality, and performance across channels
  • Drive innovation across retail media offerings, including testing new platforms, beta opportunities, and emerging capabilities
  • Establish, codify, and scale best practices across the retail media function and broader organization
  • Contribute to business development efforts, supporting new client opportunities and expanding existing partnerships
  • Partner with key technology and platform providers (e.g., Pacvue, Skai, and others) to enhance capabilities and unlock new opportunities

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in retail media, ecommerce advertising, or performance marketing, with deep expertise across multiple retail media networks (not limited to Amazon)
  • Proven ability to lead executive-level client relationships and act as a trusted advisor within complex organizations
  • Strong understanding of the retail media ecosystem, including sponsored ads, DSP, and offsite retail media strategies
  • Experience leading and scaling high-performing, cross-functional teams, with a demonstrated ability to develop talent at multiple levels
  • Track record of driving measurable business outcomes through data-driven media strategies
  • Strong analytical mindset, with comfort interpreting performance data and translating insights into action
  • Experience with retail media tools and platforms such as Pacvue, Skai, or similar technologies preferred
  • Innovative thinker with the ability to navigate ambiguity and solve complex marketing challenges
  • Hands-on, solutions-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

We aim to offer competitive direct compensation and a rich indirect compensation program that demonstrates the value we place on our employees and their wellbeing.

Total Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $180,000 - $195,000
  • Target Annualized Discretionary Bonus: 15% ($27,000 - $29,250)
  • Target Total Cash: $207,000 - $224,250
