Overview

The VP, People is responsible for creating and executing innovative human resource programs that will attract talent and drive employee engagement and retention. We are looking for a passionate business leader who is ready to join a collaborative team.

In this position, you are responsible for creating and applying HR policies and programs that help the organization achieve business goals. You will be responsible for the core HR areas, including performance management, employee engagement, employee relations, and talent attraction. The right candidate must be highly adaptable, motivated, a natural relationship builder, and ready and willing to roll up their sleeves and get the job done.

This is a position for a self-motivated, strategic thinker who understands organization development and efficiency and has excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

HR/Talent Strategy:

  • Act as a strategic advisor to the leaders in your assigned groups
  • As a leader within the HR team, provide generalist HR support across in areas including, performance management, leadership development, succession planning, talent acquisition, engagement, HR operations, and employee relations
  • Work closely with all levels of employees to build relationships, provide HR support and drive the business strategy
  • Monitor performance management program compliance to ensure timely and valuable performance conversations; help identify competency, knowledge, and talent gaps; develop specific recommendations to fill gaps
  • Execute the day-to-day responsibilities of the HR function, including salary and new hire administration, reporting, and tracking. Drive continuous improvement in all processes and systems
  • Proactively identify opportunities and solutions to solve talent resourcing issues
  • Partner with business and finance leadership to grow our people and in turn grow the company
  • Manage the salary review process for client groups, including completion of compensation analysis, recommendations for increases, and guidance for managers around communicating compensation change

Talent:

  • Partner closely with senior leaders and the Talent Acquisition (TA) Hub to develop the best search strategy to identify and attract exceptional candidates in a fast-growing, competitive market
  • Partner with the TA Hub to ensure an ongoing talent pipeline and drive “just in time” hiring opportunities
  • Participate in the process of interviewing candidates as appropriate
  • Stay current on trends and collaborate on best practices with the TA Hub

Employee Engagement:

  • Contribute to creating an equitable and inclusive culture where every employee feels a sense of belonging
  • Oversee onboarding plans for senior and critical new hires to ensure smooth entry to business unit and broader network
  • Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the onboarding process and proactively suggest and implement approved enhancements
  • Lead others and collaborate in creating impactful talent programs to drive attraction and retention of employees
  • Help to develop retention, rewards, and recognition programs
  • Drive retention in client groups through the effective management of conflict, open communication, and feedback with employees
  • Provide coaching and counseling to employees in areas such as conflict resolution and career development
  • Create strong relationships with other People team members to ensure excellent delivery of People initiatives and services
  • Connect and build relationships with other HR professionals across the OPRG network to ensure alignment and use of best practices

HR Operations:

  • Manage relocation arrangements for employees and transfers within Ketchum Marketplaces
  •  Submit relocation requests to OPRG CPO for employees looking to be tied to a satellite office
  • Drive monthly audit related to RTO to ensure employees are meeting compliance, to assist leaders in management of teams locally
  •  Support OPRG CPO with Ad hoc projects

Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful

performance would qualify. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

  • 10 + years of HR generalist experience; marketing/communications agency experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Solutions-oriented, strategic thinker, problem solver, client service-focused
  • Strong expertise in style flexing and collaborating in a global environment
  • Experience in talent management program development and implementation
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing strategic HR programs
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Excellent project management skills
  • SHRM or SPHR certification preferred

 

The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $160,000. This position may be bonus eligible depending on individual employee performance and Ketchum business performance. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, past training, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity and local geographic market data.
