Overview: 

We are looking for a Vice President, Influence to join our team!  

 

Do the latest creator trends on social enthrall you? Do you obsess about the ways they can apply to your clients’  influencer marketing strategies? Do you dream about TikTok at night? We need to talk. 

Ketchum’s award-winning influencer marketing team is seeking a VP to join us in developing innovative and strategic influencer marketing campaigns, and of course, activating them on behalf of our incredible clients – from Fortune 500 leaders to energetic start-ups.   

 

We’re seeking someone with a proven track record in planning and delivering influencer campaigns across paid, earned, and shared media. You possess the skills to launch measurably successful campaigns and deep knowledge of how digital/social media channels fit into the communications mix.   

 

This role is responsible for managing, identifying, and nurturing client relationships at the most senior levels, plus ensuring teams are implementing programs to our highest standards. You’ll offer clients strategic counsel on the most effective ways to deliver and measure business outcomes. As such, your understanding of influencer-specific Analytics and Paid Media execution is a win-win!  

Our desired candidate is passionate, compassionate, and self-motivated. Experience across a variety of brand sectors, both B2C and B2B, is highly desirable. And agency experience is preferred. 

 
Responsibilities

Client Service and Satisfaction: 

  • Plan and deliver influencer campaigns across all main platforms 
  • Identify, negotiate, and manage influencers and talent across multiple channels, tiers, categories, and niches 
  • Facilitate the development of strategic influencer-related activities for our clients 
  • Be able to educate clients when they have little experience working with influencers 
  • Understand the path to purchase through influencer campaign, and techniques to track and assess performance 
  • Provide creative content solutions for client campaigns (taking them from concept through to delivery) 
  • Work collaboratively with account teams  
  • Present confidently and with authority to external audiences in order to educate, engage, and entice – winning trust and business 
  • Promote the value and importance of client feedback and review with the team and develop a client-focused culture 
  • Manage post-campaign evaluation, highlighting strengths and identifying opportunities to improve future campaigns 
  • Clearly understand ROI and measurement tools surrounding influencers (both to identify and evaluate) 
  • Educate the team on the specifics as they relate to influencer contracts, and be able to navigate the contracting and negotiation process 
  • Maintain an understanding of our client’s business and sector to improve counsel to the client 
  • Monitor and understand clients’ markets and brands; be aware of market issues and competitive activity 

Teamwork and Team Leadership: 

  • Lead team briefings to share information to keep teams informed and engaged. Use team meetings as an opportunity to share knowledge 
  • Support the team in delivering the brief by driving the quality and direction of the team on day-to-day basis. Provide insight into the strategic direction of the campaign or event 
  • Plan and prioritize work with the team to ensure completion according to client requirements and deadlines 
  • Maintain regular communication with junior and senior team members, ensuring the team operates most effectively and efficiently to meet client needs, including knowing how to manage up and down within the team structure  
  • Regularly engage in dialogue with colleagues to ensure an accurate view and understanding of their workload, priorities, deadlines, and aspirations. Delegate projects and activities to stretch performance and capability 
  • Keep abreast of emerging partners, innovations, talent, sharing updates and knowledge with the team 
  • Ongoing evaluation of platforms and tools to enable the team to work most efficiently; negotiation of partnerships with platforms and tools, and oversight of relationships to ensure they are providing value 
  • Direct management of two or more team members, responsible for their career growth and performance reviews, as well as regular developmental and support needs 

Business Development: 

  • Lead Thought Leadership for the agency externally and internally on Influencer, proactively updating clients on best practices for Influencer programming. 
  • Proactively identify and drive opportunities to grow and expand our Influencer work 
  • Identify and pipeline for new clients 
  • Lead and participate in new business pitches with energy and passion, and encourage the same in the team 
  • Proactively contribute to the development and updating of case studies and other credentials materials 
  • Encourage colleagues to contribute to and participate in new business activity including research, brainstorming, making client contact, and presenting, as appropriate 

Commercial and Financial Management: 

  • Create and manage program budgets, including monthly reconciliation 
  • Negotiate and finalize with the client or account team on any budget adjustments and explore opportunities for additional projects 
  • Provide accurate forecasts on accounts to ensure accurate future planning 
  • Contribute to year-end and campaign reconciliations 

 
Qualifications:

We’re looking for required skills, and they can come from any combination of education and experience. Diversity of thought and background are encouraged. Typical qualifications include: 

  • 10 + years’ experience specifically leading influencer programming across multiple channels in B2B and B2C, within a media buying, advertising, communications, marketing, or public relations environment 
  • Demonstrate knowledge and a passion for the influencer universe on all social channels 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Accuracy and attention to detail 
  • Strong technical background with advanced computer skills, including influencer platforms (e.g., Tagger, CreatorIQ, or others) 
  • Strong negotiation and contracting background, including understanding of all of the aspects of influencer agreements  
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, as well as independently 
  • Aptitude to develop and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders 
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and handle a number of concurrent projects and tasks 

 

 

The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000. This position may be bonus eligible depending on individual employee performance and Ketchum business performance. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, past training, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity and local geographic market data.
