Engineering Technician-UAV specific

Kraus Hamdani Aerospace (KHA) is currently seeking an Engineering/Manufacturing Technician with hands-on experience working on robotic systems. You will be an integral part of our dynamic team, executing vital tasks in support of constructing and developing our family of Ultra Long Endurance aircraft. Comfort with engineering drawings and tools such as Dremel, soldering iron, and crimpers is essential.
Responsibilities:
- UAV Assembly & Modification: Build, assemble, and modify UAV systems according to engineering specifications. Integrate mechanical and electronic components to create fully operational UAVs.
- Mechanical and Electrical Integration: Construct various mechanical and electrical subassemblies using hand tools, power tools, soldering irons, and crimpers.
- Harness Building: Build and modify wiring harnesses according to engineering drawings, ensuring all connections are reliable and meet project specifications.
- Software Configuration: Configure firmware and parameters and calibrate aircraft systems.
- System Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct testing of integrated systems to ensure functionality. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with both mechanical and electronic systems using instruments such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with engineers to enhance manufacturing processes.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all assembly and modification processes, including updates to engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
Requirements:
- Experience: 5+ years of technician experience working with robotic systems, UAS experience preferred.
- Technical Skills: Ability to work with engineering drawings to perform manufacturing tasks, and experience with robotics systems requiring firmware, parameter, and calibration configurations.
- Hands-On Skills: Proficient with tools such as Dremel for modifying existing aircraft.
- Location: Local to the Bay Area with the ability to commute to the Emeryville office (CA).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Ardupilot or similar autopilot configuration.
- Model airplane building/flying experience.
- Veteran status.
- Bachelor’s Degree (BS).
