Manufacturing Engineer-Ultra Long Endurance Aircraft
Kraus Hamdani Aerospace (KHA) is an aerospace company specializing in long-endurance unmanned aerial platforms for a wide variety of industries. KHA supports a number of customers to carry out missions involving aerial reconnaissance, survey, communication relay and communications provisioning. Endurance, enabled by effective design, is key to these applications and KHA aircraft utilize cutting-edge aircraft design together with on-board intelligence to deliver value for these customers.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer with a passion for developing procedures and processes. As part of our dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development, testing, and manufacturing of the KHA family of Ultra Long Endurance aircraft. This role also requires occasional travel to support flight operations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and Document: Create manufacturing QC tests and equipment for robotic systems (jigs, fixtures, test boxes).
- Create and Maintain Procedures: Develop and uphold manufacturing procedures and work instructions for efficient and repeatable manufacturing.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to enhance system design and manufacturability.
- Hands-On R&D: Participate in aircraft building and process optimization.
- Equipment Design and Implementation: Design, develop, analyze, and implement equipment to improve manufacturing processes.
- Problem Solving: Identify issues and devise effective solutions.
Requirements:
- Experience:
- 3+ years working with autonomous systems and autopilot systems (Ardupilot experience preferred).
- 3+ years developing manufacturing aids (jigs, fixtures, test boxes).
- 3+ years with manufacturing documentation and process development.
- Skills: Hands-on experience, ability to interpret engineering drawings, and perform manufacturing tasks.
- Location: Local to the Bay Area with the ability to commute to our Emeryville office (CA).
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to take ownership of projects.
- Citizenship: U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- FAA Part 107 certification.
- Model airplane building/flying experience.
- Veteran status.
- Bachelor’s Degree (BS).
