Manufacturing Technician – Ultra Long Endurance Unmanned Aircraft
We are seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician with a passion for hands-on assembly, testing, and process improvement. As part of our dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in manufacturing and optimizing the KHA family of Ultra Long Endurance unmanned aircraft. This role also involves occasional travel to support flight operations.
Responsibilities

Assembly & Testing: Perform hands-on aircraft assembly, manufacturing, and quality control testing using jigs, fixtures, and test boxes.

Building and using manufacturing aid

Team Collaboration: Work alongside engineers, technicians, and production teams to improve designs and ensure smooth manufacturability.

Hands-On Support: Participate in aircraft builds, maintenance, and process optimization to enhance reliability and efficiency.

Troubleshooting & Repairs: Identify production issues and implement practical solutions to maintain quality and performance.
Requirements
Experience:
-
3+ years working with robotic systems, autopilot technology, or unmanned aircraft (Ardupilot preferred).

3+ years building or developing manufacturing aids (jigs, fixtures, test boxes).

3+ years of hands-on experience with manufacturing documentation and process development.
Skills:

Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

Proficiency in assembly, troubleshooting, and quality control for aerospace or robotic systems.

Experience with precision tools, calibration equipment, and manufacturing best practices.
Location: Local to the Bay Area, with daily commute to our Emeryville, CA facility.
Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to take ownership of assigned tasks.
Citizenship: U.S. citizen with eligibility to obtain secret security clearance.
