Senior Aerospace Engineer - Advanced UAV Platform Development

Kraus Hamdani Aerospace (KHA) is an aerospace company specializing in long-endurance unmanned aerial platforms for a wide variety of industries. KHA supports a number of customers to carry out missions involving aerial reconnaissance, survey, communication relay and communications provisioning. Endurance, enabled by effective design, is key to these applications and KHA aircraft utilize cutting-edge aircraft design together with on-board intelligence to deliver value for these customers.

KHA is expanding its elite design and analysis team to spearhead the development of two cutting-edge, long-endurance aircraft. We are seeking a seasoned Aerospace Engineer with a robust background in advanced UAV platform development to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define and refine requirements and constraints, ensuring alignment with project goals.

  • Lead trade-space and conceptual-level studies for both current and future product lines, driving innovation and strategic decision-making.

  • Down-select and integrate advanced technologies, overseeing comprehensive design activities to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

  • Select and manage suppliers for critical subsystems, ensuring quality and adherence to project timelines.

  • Support integration and testing activities across our UK and USA facilities, ensuring seamless operation and compliance with rigorous standards.

  • Oversee in-service performance and diagnose failures, implementing corrective actions to maintain operational excellence.

  • Mentor and manage a small technical team, fostering professional growth and ensuring high-quality deliverables.

Preferred Experience:

  • Extensive experience in aircraft design and systems engineering.

  • Proficiency in aerodynamics and structural analysis.

  • Hands-on experience with systems testing and commissioning.

  • Proven track record of operating or working on UAVs.

  • Expertise in supporting in-service systems.

  • In-depth knowledge of airworthiness and certification standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Aerospace Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Commitment to Excellence: Demonstrated dedication to continuous improvement and a proactive, flexible approach to work.

  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive and contribute effectively within a rapidly growing and dynamic organization.

  • Leadership: Proven experience in mentoring and managing technical teams, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
