Technical Design, Production, Wovens Internship (Spring 2025)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a Technical Design, Production, Wovens Intern to join the KHAITE team for this Fall Semester. This role will report to the Director, Technical Design, Production, Wovens and will be based out of the NYC HQ offices. This internship is unpaid and for college credit only.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the maintenance of technical sketches, spec sheets, and tech packs for RTW woven garments.
- Support with sample specking.
- Support fit sessions by preparing samples, documenting notes, and updating measurements and fit comments.
- Collaborate with the Production team to track sample and production status, ensuring timely deliveries and quality standards.
- Aid in the review of garment construction, inspecting samples for technical accuracy and quality compliance.
- Participate in production meetings and contribute ideas.
- Assist with fabric and trim testing to assess quality, durability, and suitability for each style
- Organize and maintain production and technical design materials, samples, and archives.
- Assist with sample pick up from local factories or pattern drop offs/pick-up to the local factories or grading rooms.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment and dynamically align to changing business conditions
- Keen interest for fashion and eagerness to immerse themselves in the industry
Education/Experience:
- Currently enrolled for a Bachelor’s Degree; preferably in Fashion Design, Apparel Production, Technical Design, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of garment construction, fit, and sewing techniques; with a particular interest in woven materials
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as the Google Suite, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop
