Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to manage and grow the Service Department at our Reno Kimball Equipment Company location. The ideal candidate will have extensive service experience in the aggregate and mining industry, or service management experience in the agricultural or construction equipment industry. This role requires a proactive leader who can ensure efficient service operations, maintain high levels of customer satisfaction, and uphold our company's standards.

 

· Key Responsibilities:

o Oversee daily operations of the service department, ensuring safe, timely and high-quality customer service

o Manage, train, and develop service technicians and support staff

o Schedule and prioritize service jobs to meet customer and company needs while maximizing department efficiency

o Monitor and maintain service department performance metrics, including productivity, customer satisfaction, and profitability

o Assist in the development and implementation of service policies, procedures, and best practices

o Coordinate with parts and sales departments to ensure seamless customer service

o Address and resolve customer complaints and service issues promptly and professionally

o Maintain a safe and compliant work environment, adhering to all relevant safety regulations and company policies

o Responsible for communicating company objectives and policies as well as encourage employee participation and personal growth

o Responsible for observing service personnel in repair circumstances and for providing the coaching necessary to develop safe, clean efficient, and effective high-quality work

o Preparation of service quotes as needed.

o Makes recommendations for tools, equipment and other facility capital expenditures and ensures that they are maintained and in good working order

o Develops markets for the service departments current abilities and future revenue opportunities

o Responsible for working with HR and Management to help recruit and hire service employees

o Responsible for setting wage levels and technician grade evaluations for all service personnel

o Direct involvement with in-field customer issue resolution

o Responsible for the morale and discipline of the service personnel working within company policies including termination if required

o Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager

· Qualifications:

o Minimum of 2 years of experience in a service management role within the agricultural, construction equipment or aggregate and mining industry

o Strong technical knowledge of heavy equipment used in the aggregate and mining industry

o Proven leadership and team management skills

o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

o Strong problem-solving abilities, high sense of urgency and a customer-focused mindset

o Proficient in using service management software and other relevant tools

o Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities

o Proven record of building a customer focused team

o Requires a valid drivers license and the ability to maintain an insurable driving record

o Willingness to travel

· Education/Experience:

o Minimum 2 years supervisory/management experience

o Preferred 2- or 4-year technical degree or equivalent job experience
